Don't know about these units, but here in Japan Toshiba sold a LOT of Librettos. I used to see tons and tons of them in Akihabara when they were comming off their lease.
Outside hot spring - rotenburo - somewhere high in the Japanese Alps, in a MAJOR blizzard. Rock101, the Vancouver radio station I had been listening to, went dead, and I was wondering whether the problem was my wireless connection... turned out the problem was at their end.
Live and let live, I say. But, just because it's popular it does not mean it's any good. Think McDonalds and Microsoft.

This proves it, I am schizophrenic and posting under more than one name. Damn, and I thought the medication would help. (People around me are climbing the walls when I crank up the sound and my play list alternates Rammstein with Norah Jones, with some John Mayall and Muddy Waters thrown in for variety.)
A couple things: 1. Wish I had some mod points. 2. Why do you waste of time trying to explain stuff that is common sense to people who are obviously lacking any sense at all.
(I am a couple months away from leaving "the city," - Tokyo - for "the sticks" - some place or another in rural British Columbia. So, this satellite is possibly good news; need more info before making up my mind. The only thing I'll be missing about the city is the 15 minutes subway trips to Akihabara.)
Oh? No offence, but, I would like to hear some of there reasons.
I have been to a few weddings where they went this way, and the resulting DVDs were absolutely WONDERFUL. In fact, after seeing the results I was thinking that I am glad I don't make a living as a wedding photographer...
Well, if you don't like it do something about it. For example, move to Tokyo.:-)
As a Vancouverite who has been living in Japan for a "few" years now it always kills me to hear people bitch about the train/bus/roads being "packed." I used to do it too, but now when I come back home I rather enjoy driving in the "rush".
Just to give yo an idea of what's like here, I commute 22 Km, one way, by bicycle. I am willing to put any amount of $$/yen/what_have_you on the fact that on any random morning I will be in my office before anyone who does the same route by car. Bikes and "tuned" scooters will kick my butt, but cars and normal scooters don't have a chance. Oh yeah, I am old fat and slow compared to my commutting mate who doesn't even break a sweat on most bits.
The graphical installer didn't seem any more challenging than Windows, and when it was done, everything was there: browser, OpenOffice, games... What's the big deal?
There are ALL KINDS of "clearance", many - most ?? - of which do not require citizenship. (See German young man who bought it in Afghanistan while on service for the CIA.)
What if you are busy but like to watch certain TV shows? This would allow you to watch yor stuff during your commute, if you commute by train/bus/some_kind_of_public_transportation, that is. No?
Where does humanity come int this? As far as I know, in the US in criminal cases the jury is only able to state guilt/innocence. It is for the Judge to do the rest. No? As for the language issue... you haven't been around the non native criminal ellement, have you? It's one of the oldest tricks. In a "previous life" I used to translate for the court, in Canada, I almost always knew the accused(s), and I knew that their English was excellent; yet they pretended they couldn't speak any Englih. (No it was not my place to enlighten the Court as to their language abilities.)
Moore is as lacking in objecivity as the other windbag, Rush; the only difference is the side they are on.
Spend a few minutes Googling and an hour or so, maybe less if you are a fast reader, to read what BOTH sides have to say about Moore.
By all means, DO go and see the movie. But, make sure you either take it for what is, mediocre entertainment, at best; or watch it with your THINKING cap on.
(I am not 'merican, but I used to visit A LOT, and I have a lot of friends there. I actually LIKE the country and most of its people - which is something fewer and fewer non USians admit these days; I do, however, disapprove of some of the things the US gov't has done in the last few years. Anyhow, Moore is, in my humble oppinion an opportunistic asshole.)
Preemptive punishment? See recent US activities in... shit... what's that large country in the Middle East... it's on the tip of my brain... Iraq???;-)
I am not American, but, if need be, I can be as loud and obnoxious as one.:-) So, I was there as a traveler, in fact I was riding my bicycle through the country in _August_ - yes, I am aware that doesn't say much about my common sense. As to what I am, not that it should matter, I am currently Canadian. The reason the guy, as well as just everyone else in the area, thought I was american is, and I am guessing here, size[1] and the fact that we were speaking English.
[1] I could easily get lost in a group of Navy SEALs.
Indeed, or the "Robert Taylor Homes" project. But, it's not fashionable to show that kind of stuff on TV. (Could it be that it's too close to home, literally and figuratively???)

HDTV broadcasts are entirely digital
... Japan has been broadcasting "HDTV" in analog for ten years or more; BS channel 9, if you want to know.
Err

You can eat all you can pee!"
(A friend came up with this yesterday while we were talking about the article.)
I've never met a non-hardore security geek who knows what 'egress filtering' is.
:-)
Now you have.
But seriously, anyone with even a modicum of curiosity/concern can pick up a copy of "Firewalls for Dummies" and get 1/2 a clue. No?
There is hope for this world after all.
Perhaps it's just me, but egress filtering is the default behaviour on all FW boxes I set up. And I'm not even that much of a harcore security geek.

Yeah, but you are old, that's why you are a Led/Hendrix/Janis fan. ;-)
One needs a bit of ballance, so throw on some Clapton, of D&D era, some classic Santana, ok ANY Santana, and some Floyd. Now we're talking.
People have all kinds of ideas as to the meaning of "camping".
I am a bike&tent type, but I don't have a problem with people for whom a class C motorhome is "roughing it."
Not if you live full time in a class A motorhome, eh.

So, whwre in Burnaby do you live?
Of course. Look around for "DVDIdle Pro" ... one of the best solutions. IMHO, of course.
