Second: The reason why I asked slashdot was to really get a feel for some of the less obvious solutions that perhaps myself or our building maintenance personnel might come up with.
The unfortunate reality is, even though it is not the ideal, sometimes you do need a less expensive solution. I work for a municipal government. Politics and managerial whims dictate a great deal as to what has priority. The best plan/budget don't mean squat if the City Council or City Manager or other department head needs something now.
I'm not an electrician, and I don't want to be. I just thought it'd be an interesting question to pose to the collective slashdot experience and see what came out of it.
The ATRAC format that mini-discs use is a lossy compression algorithm that, in retrospect, sounds eerily familiar to that of MP3, which came along a little later. ATRAC analyzes the frequencies in what you're recording and throws out what it thinks you don't need or won't hear.
MD has ALWAYS been lossy. The latest versions of ATRAC has gotten much better as far as sound quality goes.

There are a multitude of methods for providing different content based on what the client browser returns on certain environment variables. While I think it's silly to demand that modules be removed from CPAN, it's entirely up to the people running the server to determine who they want to serve content to....and who they dont.
If they can't figure out how to do it serverside (or with clientside scripting) then that's their problem.
That's the bitch about open standards....EVERYONE can use them....:)
Unfortunately, I don't think so. For some reason, EQ seems to -always- be in the vote, but keeps getting voted down. Funny thing is, it's a pretty popular topic. Go to Transgaming's website and vote it up, otherwise they'll probably never set out to make it work until it works by accident.
Ya know, this sounds like the omega number theory that was posted on here.
" But if one oracle knows Omega, it's easy to imagine a second-order oracle that knows Omega'. This machine, in turn, has its own halting probability, Omega'' , which is known only by a third-order oracle, and so on. According to Chaitin, there exists an infinite sequence of increasingly random Omegas. "
I use a Sierra Wireless Aircard 210 combo for my CDPD. goAmerica provides me with service. $70/month for unlimited CDPD access nationwide. Linux runs great on my Thinkpad 560E. Sierra Wireless was VERY supportive in my efforts to get their AirCard 210 working with Linux. Although they don't officially support it, they do link to my page on how I got my Aircard to work. CDPD is only 19.2k and better for bursty traffic...it's still damn kewl and wireless!! I do believe they are working on making CDPD faster as well.
That's funny..I must BE from that planet....I've always eaten my corn on the cob vertically...
go figure..

Depends on which customer service rep you get...some suck..some don't. And Dish watches alt.dbs.echostar...when people really bitch about a problem they have with customer service...it usually gets resolved and the customer posts again and is happy.
We had billing problems too..but..it all got straightened out....it just happens sometimes.
Umm...Rob, did you get permission from Hormel (or whoever makes SPAM) to use that picture? I know they got really pissy awhile back about their product being associated with unsolicited email.
I don't care either way, myself...just wiht all this legal action talk....I'd hate to see slashdot gone after again.

Isn't that what BillGatus said back around the time of Win98/ME?...
2006 - 2001 = 5 years
5 yrs x 12 months = 60 months..
methinks they're a lil behind schedule..

OMG... are you sure that wasn't the local government I work for?! =) Sounds just like 'em!
They did a 'blackout' of the audio and video at that point so you couldn't see the spoof.
Guess they didn't get approval from the proper people for re-airing it.
Trillian -will- work under linux with the crossover plugin from codeweavers. In fact, it is a supported program!
or you could roll your own wine install.

I guarantee you he made a LOT more money than he lost.

but neways....Blizzard has said that in the near future they will consider a DVD release.
Yes, they will...however, Dish also recently signed a deal with iSky to also provide satellite internet services...
They figure they're going to need multiple providers to satisfy bandwidth demands from their customers.
I wanna beta test!
...great....what's this Handsome Hero(tm) gonna do?...Go around and yank the power cords on everything?

Rol> Why not try notetab with WINE ?
Failing that, you could always use VMware.
I can't imagine NoteTab being so complicated that WINE couldn't run it.

Totally untrue. Yes, Dish makes their own recievers, but JVC makes Dish Network Recievers as well.
