This person is the "Fox News Chief Intelligence Correspondent" -- as far as I can tell, she's a long, long, long way from 'intelligence'. This story, especially the headline is sensationalistic tripe. Fox News has said and done a lot of dumb things, but this is really takes the cake. Disgraceful.
Absolutely. Anyone at any age who volunteers to spend time on the South Pole must recognize they have no access to emergency care. I sympathize with her situation, but no more lives should be put at risk to rescue her.
His analogy, not mine.. though I'd argue that some of the ideas expressed in books could potentially be far more harmful than any pornographic image, especially without the proper context.
Give me a freaking break, would you? Yes, my parents would drop me off at the library, but the librarians never stopped us from going into the 'adult' section. Why? Because that's the job of the parent! Not a librarian, not a teacher, and certainly not a corporation. Raise your children and spend time with them or don't have them at all.
I am heart broken. Sunday's just won't be the same

Tim Russert Dies At 58
·
· Score: 1
I am originally from Buffalo and I always had a great sense of pride to have that common bond with Tim Russert, a man who I watched intently on Sunday mornings. Though beyond that, his CNBC interview show was always fascinating as well as his regular commentary on MSNBC, especially on 'Morning Joe'.
Tim Russert was one in a billion. We'll never see the likes of him in our life time. It's a truly sad day for America, Tim's extended family.
Kathy Nooan said today: "Tim was a patriot, he had a love of country that just radiated..." Perhaps that should be inscribed on his tombstone.
Your constant appeasement of the current US administration is one of the reasons they're able to get away with what they do. Encourage your politicians to impose massive sanctions, if you feel the way you do. The fact is, they won't, because that would hurt your economy just as badly as our own --- the hypocrisy goes both ways.
I would set off alarms every time I left a store, could never figure out why. Finally an aggressive security agent had me reveal the contents of my wallet. We discovered a book of stamps with one of those magnetic strips in there. It was never reset properly when I bought it from the local bodega. Once the security agent swipped the book of stamps, I've not had the problem since.
You're going to attack me because of a.us domain? That's absurd. I'm a liberal.. Michael Moore gives liberals a bad name. Do not confuse me for some Bush loving neo-con.

PS - I've been running 2.6 for well over a month on most of my boxes without any issues. Though I have noticed that some obscure drivers tend to be missing or broken.
Hardware issue on Intel ICH5 requires an additional ack sequence over and above the normal IDE DMA interrupt ack requirements. Issue described in post to freebsd list: http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg58421.html
Since the bug workaround only requires a single additional PIO or MMIO read in the interrupt handler, it is applied to all chipsets using the standard libata interrupt handler.
Credit for research the issue, creating the patch, and testing the patch all go to Jon Burgess. ---------
Woo, this is very exciting. If you had problems with SATA & ICH5... this probably fixes those problems.
We moved to ServerMatrix.com after the EV1/SCO fiasco.:) So far so good. We're paying exactly what we were at EV1, but we get more bang for our buck -- including more bandwidth and a better processor.
They are very quick to respond to trouble tickets and their staff seems quite friendly. They even offer cross connects if you rent more than one server, which is something I don't believe EV1 ever did. We looked at ServerBeach, but they seem much more expensive and their support policy was a turn off.
I'm glad to see so many others are leaving EV1. To some it seems hasty, but at the end of the day it's just a matter of principle.
We made the switch last night to ServerMatrix.com. Hopefully they won't screw over the Linux community too.
We had a total of 3 servers with EV1 which will all be offline by the end of the month. Certainly my 3 servers will not hurt them, but hopefully many more are taking similar actions.
EV1 has made untold amounts of money off of Linux and then to sell it down the river without a fight is just plain wrong. There's no other way to say it.
Seriously now.. the two most insecure mail server providers are teaming up? I smell a debacle in the making. End of spam as we know it? Unlikely factor: 9.5
This is absurd. All it will do is hurt New Mexico's economy. If I was a resident there, I would travel to Arizona or otherwise to get a new car. Rarely do I drink and I certainly don't drink and drive, but this really offends me.
I think I'd much rather get my security alerts from SecurityFocus, BugTraq, and other more independent sources. I suspect the US government doesn't have a worthy full disclosure policy.;)... but call me paranoid.

It's not like the Bush administration cares what a court says. They'd do it regardless. It's a matter of national security, you know?
"That is, unless the federal government was paying for it."
It's not the federal government that pays.. it's you and me.

Off topic: How do you know Bob Farris? I saw a post of yours that mentioned his questionable business practices -- I hear that.

I use VMWare to run QuickBooks inside of Window 98. If this is true, it will be a big help in getting rid of Windows entirely.
:)
So far.. QuickBooks 2003 Pro did install, but gives me an out of memory error when I try to run it. Looks like it needs a little tweaking.
I turned my back for 5 seconds and next thing I know I'm smelling burnt electronics. We became the the poster boys for ZIF sockets.

Mandrake 10, though it's Mandrake, so I woundn't recommend rush in. Fedora Core 2 will ship with 2.6 in April.

Dedicated server providers like EV1 and SM are becoming a commodity. I'll switch again if I must. :)

ClamAV had the defs out on Jan 25th.. Norton didn't until the 26th. Score one for open source (again).
