i'm dealing with a bug detecting team in india right now through a client (their choice to use them)... they use "fixed" bugs as their main metric.... so they file tons of bugs... we waste tons of time explaining why there isn't a bug, then they agree and say "ok we'll mark it fixed" and we say "mark it rejected" and they say "ok we'll mark it fixed".

this is exactly what is wrong with slashdot's moderation system... a blatant lie = the highest level of "informative", while the correcting truth is moderated as "overrated" or "troll" just because the moderator doesn't care for the person providing the truth.
you should also question why the original post was moderated at the highest level of insight, even though it fails to address the differences with the new simulation platform... namely the stereoscopic 3D displays.

yes, i'm very familiar with chuck yeager and the history of aviation development... i also talked with the head of the DoD simulation department when they spoke at my university in the 90s... at the time, they had been developing their products for over 20 years, so i could only assume these simulation tools have been available since then.
generally though, if the wing looks good in the wind tunnel, and can withstand some stress tests, putting a gutsy pilot in it is a lot easier than programming a new simulation.
considering he already claimed to have claimed to have experience that wasn't possible, and quoted someone else who claimed such action was an act of lying, it's irrelevant to determine if he is currently lying... i only stipulated that he is certainly a liar... because he is. he admitted it. you're an idiot.
