Basically, let the fan in the back suck air into the case and blow it over the CPU. If you put one in the front, point it so it blows air out of the case. That will help the other fan. If you turn it so that it blows inward, it will create back pressure for the other fan. As an old technician buddy of mine would say, "NFG".
Actually, I think the fan in the back blows air out of the case, and the fan in the front sucks air in, along with the vent in the side. As noted by the arrows.:)

On the surface, all the boards look and smell the same, but underneath is anyone tweaking things; one way or the other?
The only tweaking is done by the board manufacturer, and then only the drivers.
Do Nvidia drivers come from Nvidia or the board manufacturer? Does it matter?
If you want to use the manufacturer's drivers, feel free. I personally use Nvidia reference drivers (Detonator). But some of the manufacturer's drivers enable overclocking, etc without changing much of anything except the card's name in Device Manager.
In short, it really doesn't matter who you buy it from. Buy the cheapest card with the best software bundle (my GeForce 2MX came with WinDVD2000 and Soldier of Fortune...it was in an Asus box).:)

Covad.net is covad's ISP.
It's also the only DSL only ISP that can be profitable, since they charge approx. $75/mo for 144k IDSL service. ADSL is probably cheaper, but I can't get it anyway.
Funny thing is, when bazillion went under, Covad.net was the only other ISP in my area, other than Speakeasy (the ubiquitous Covad partner)

The solution chosen was quite a simple one, and I'm amazed that more people have never noticed it. It is thus: The second digit of all area codes is either a zero or a one. Thus, if the second digit dialed in is a zero or a one, the phone switch will wait for 10 digits as opposed to just seven.
Unfortunately, this dramatically limits both the number of area codes and local calling codes. The number of area codes is limited to roughly 160 (8 * 2 * 10)
In Atlanta, we have 678, 404 and 770. In other Cities/States they have Area Codes that do not have a 0/1 as the 2nd digit, such as 321 in Florida.
We're not limited like that anymore, I believe, as we used to be.

IBM's job to compete effectively in a highly competitve laptop market.
Make that highly competitive, consumer driven, laptop market, and you'd be right. The customer either gets what he wants, or he goes to another company.
The way they do that is by advancing the state of the hardware. It is not IBM's job to assemble laptops out of parts that Linux already has drivers for. That's Dell's job.
It's not Dell's job, necessarily, to make sure that customers can run any OS they want, it's a conscious, service oriented choice. And in this case, it's not a matter of the hardware supporting alternative OS's, it's the BIOS, which is something that should *never* have happend.=P
Try to get it through your dense skull that the world does not revolve around vintage 70's technology used by less than 1% of the computing public.
My home PC is far from vintage 70's technology, yet OS/2, Linux and Be like it fine, as do all flavors of Windows (except 3.1).

I never said that IBM *had* to "Support" linux, but they could at least make sure that their hardware would boot with all popular PC operating systems (DOS, NT/2000, 9x/ME, OS/2, Linux, BSD, BeOS, etc). Dell doesn't "support" linux either, but they at least make sure their hardware will work with it, so users can install their OS of choice rather than be locked in to a select set of "certified" operating systems.

Telling a customer "No, you can't run that operating system, and we won't help you restore your disk. Go away." is the surest way to drive new business away as bad word of mouth spreads.
IBM should adopt Dell's take on alternative OS's. "Install 'em. If you do it properly it should work. If it doesn't, we'll help you get your laptop back to factory specs." (i.e. System restore)
There are ways to maximize profits that don't involve fscking the customer.

Oh, completely understandable for 75 in a 50, but there are extenuating (spelling?) circumstances.
Around Atlanta is this wonderful little stretch of Interstate called I-285. It's basically what the state says truckers should use if they don't have business in the city so traffic doesn't get clogged up. Crossing through I-285 are three interstate highways (I-20, east to west; I-75 and I-85, north and south, kind of forming an X). The speed limit on 75/85 is 55mph inside 285, while the speed limit on I-20 inside 285 is 50mph. No one I've ever seen drives 50, usually 65-70mph. Basically I-20 is a speed trap.

You don't "need" to hand over evidence unless they have a warrant specific to what they confiscate.
However, if you truly have nothing to hide, it doesn't hurt your case if you willingly let them look at some things, warrant or not. Guilty parties shouldn't mind, as it will get the trouble over quickly. Cops have suspicions about people who say "no searchy searchy with no warrant!" (rightfully so imho).

Some basic rules about living in a society is not a privilege, but a *right* :
1) Your vote *does* matter. One person *can* make a difference in this society. It just takes a realization of that fact.
2) If you don't vote, you have no right to complain about what the government has done/is doing to this society.
3) These people, whether you like them or not, have the power to pass laws restricting or granting freedom, depending on what their political beliefs are.
DISCLAIMER : I was raised in a Republican/Southern Baptist home. The only thing I have in common with my family is extremely conservative political beliefs. I'm a card carrying Libertarian, who votes Libertarian for the vast majority of spots on the ballot. Would I vote for Harry Browne? Yes. Will I? Probably not. Yeah, but what kind of positions are they? A million podunk positions in a million podunk towns across the U.S. don't mean a damn thing (yet...I'm hoping power will be given to the local authorities and taken from the feds soon...)
Last I checked, there might be one or two Libertarians in Congress, and a few Libertarian "appointees" to other positions, but nothing overly major or exciting.
Even if I did vote for Harry Browne (I'm a card carrying Libertarian), and he got enough votes to warrant more "official" government money for his campaign, he wouldn't use it.
Why not? Simple. Using federal funds to finance a campaign is something Libertarians (and Harry Browne, specifically) will *not* do. And I agree with that.
Kind of off-topic, but I don't think the Libertarians are going to win a damn thing until they change their name. The most conservative political party in existance has a liberal image, and that's what keeps them down, IMHO.
...are because of ILEC's.
I work in the broadband business for a major ISP. I support ADSL customers. Don't get me started on the hassles that ILEC's give DSL providers like Covad/Genuity/Rhythms/NorthPoint. Even with a federal mandate saying "You have to play fair with competitors" (basically), the Bells like to keep their customers to themselves. Most of what turns into months is the phone company not delivering the data line on time, because they just don't give a damn. Verizon is the worst, closely followed by USWest/Qwest and Ameritech. PacBell and BellSouth are pretty decent, but still don't play nice sometimes.
If you can get it, I'd at least check out Bazillion. $198 Install, $198 rebate, and if you don't want a year agreement, it's just $50 more for an install (no rebate on that, so $50 for total install). You can get a static IP from them for $1.95/month. They use Covad as a DSL provider, and Covad's pretty decent about keeping things working and fixing them as soon as possible, granted the telco doesn't have to get involved. I haven't been installed yet, but the guys seem to know their stuff.
