Yeah, it's classic "Come in! Now fuck off!", like all the sites that put up a splash page inviting you in and then tell you you're using the wrong web browser. I expect better from Google, frankly.
Now, if we can only kill off the LSB, we stand a chance of getting rid of RPM. Mmm... an "RPM dead" headline on Slashdot, wouldn't that be a lovely thing to see?
Let me know how it turns out. I want to start putting the digimarc circles everywhere if they work, but I don't have any crippled graphics software to test 'em with.
Keep the codecs closed source but allow their use for decoding Real-encoded content to other formats.
Last time I checked, this was explicitly not allowed by the license, which makes me suspect that the stuff about not owning all the IP is just a convenient smokescreen.
You'll probably think they can't possibly be comfortable when you first try them. I mean, where's the soft padding and the foam insole? But give it a try and you'll be converted.
Does it play MPEG-4 files? I've been unable to find a definitive answer. It says in the spec it does, but has anyone actually tested giving it a.MP4 file and seeing if it plays?
I'm not interested in AVI files, I want real MPEG-4 support.
Just Google for multi-region players. Some of the people selling players patched to play all regions, also patch them to disable function lockout.

My current DVD player is a Pioneer I patched myself with a soldering iron, but I still have to set the region manually and watch the FBI ads. I'm planning to upgrade to a DVD recorder with support for progressive scan, and I'll make sure I get one with region auto-select and function lockout disabled...
Actually, the #1 reason people prefer Photoshop to The GIMP is that Photoshop has color matching. Without color matching, the GIMP is useless for professional graphics.
Blockbuster in Massachusetts carried "Crash". I remember being surprised, because I'd always heard that they didn't carry NC-17 movies. Maybe it's a regional thing.

(No, I'm not trolling, I'm serious.)
My plan is to print it out on stickers and posters and put them up in places where people take vacation photos.

Yeah, and it regularly erroneously detects watermarks in my own photographs.
What I want to know is what's the smallest image fragment that will trigger this PhotoShop bug, so I can embed it in all my images...
Didn't NASA learn anything from losing the Mars Climate Orbiter?
"Houston, pressure is down again, we've lost three hogsheads of air in the last lunar month."
"Sorry, ISS, can you translate that into firkins per square thread?"
There was this thing called Vietnam, you might want to read up about it.

Where's the OS X graphical glulxe? I can't find it.
Apparently this is some strange new usage of the word "accident" which I was previously unfamiliar with.
Tried running it under Zoom, and Zoom says: "fatal error (PC = #0) This blorb file is not executable". It unzipped fine, though...

I replaced a dead rat with Larry The Cow using an SSH connection. There are instructions in the documentation section at gentoo.org.
I want the full range of BBC radio channels. If Sirius or XM offered that, I'd go out and buy a unit tomorrow.
I wrote to tell them so as well. If you agree, drop 'em a line, maybe it'll happen.

Someone call Rumsfeld, I know his friend Saddam is in jail but he might know another murderous dictator we can sell the stuff to.
There's an external AA adaptor for the iPod. It's a bit smaller than an iPod, and takes 4xAA cells, to give you 12-15 hours of battery life.

I guess now we know that the next Rockstar game will feature a major hip-hop artist...
Because it's broken in 2.6.
Actually, you can buy hi-res images of Area 51.
