Working with Vware a lot... ctrl-alt-ins is the command to send ctl-alt-del to the guest. I've hit backspace instead of ins dozens of times by mistake with these beefy fat fingers of mine. I eventually remapped the Gnome keyboard preferences to remove the user-switch function of ctrl-alt-del to null so that I could go back to using that instead of ctrl-alt-ins to log into guest Windows hosts.
Yeah I was pissed when I went to a RedBox to get a couple movies for my kid's birthday party. I rarely used RedBox in the last 6 months but I see they stealthily changed the pricing to "first night $2" when I got my email invoice the next morning. No signs, no obvious prompts on the display. Sneaky sneaky sneaky... but no more RedBox for me since I got burned unexpectedly. Love my NetFlix have had it for years...
When movies hit theatres or are just starting the marketing wave of trailers everywhere, I look the movie up on Netflix and "Save" it. Queue management can be handy -- you'll notice eventually that there is a release date listed next to the saved items that are coming due and they will auto-populate into your queue. Keep an eye on it and pop it to the top when it does. I've gotten a few movies within a few days after release date whereas a couple people at work still had "long wait" or "very long wait" because they added it to their queue after or right on infamous DVD Tuesday.
If I'm not mistaken it is the retailer that takes the hit for the bargain bin / reduced prices and not the studios. Retailer XYZ buys 10,000 copies of Movie A at a negotiated price from the distributor that I would bet is far below the MSRP of $19.99 on the sticker of the dvd package. I would find it hard to believe that when Walmart sells a movie for $19.99 that they paid even one quarter of that price for it.
I have over 110 movies in my queue and I check the new releases at least once a month and add anything that appears in there that I want to see. With the 3 disk option, I am about 6-8 months behind the "new release" curve anyway. I would find it hard to believe that I am unique in this situation. I mean, I can watch 3 movies a week, maybe 4 or 5 if I really have some extra time over the wekeend. But seriously, if WB wants to make people wait 28 days, good for them. At least DVD release cycles are better than VHS back in the old days (get off my lawn?) of the 80s and 90s you had to wait a year, sometimes two for a movie to get released for rental from the local Erols...
Be thankfull it's not a jacket, shirt & tie mandatory rule. I've ruined more nice clothes than I care to calculate the value over the years at the office. I am totally greatful that our CFO here doesn't mind that we (IT staff) wear jeans & polo shirts when everyone else is jacket, shirt & tie.
Any idiot can be a manager, please see the countless Slashdot threads over the years about all the complaints about moronic managers. It's been my experience over the years that manager are the first to go when financial times get tight or during mergers and aquisitions. Some have already suggested to ask why you are being pushed/forced into this type of position.
Try using the HP LJ2300 driver built into 7. Most of the HP printers share the same basic print driver code and the 2300 is also a duplexing printer. Ever since Windows 2000, I've found the HP LJ4 driver a great generic printer driver for just about any printer I couldn't find modern drivers. Shame it's disapeared since Vista.
nVidia is on board. My Quadro FX1700 in my desktop and my nVidia in my Dell M4300 Precision laptop have 64bit drivers for 7. I also noticed that the FX1700 nVidia driver was released via Windows Updates recently as well.
I wasn't a big fan with Vista and I can see where 7 looks and feels like Vista. 7 for me has been particularly stable and the only performance problems I've noticed so far are with VMware Workstation 6, however, I read earlier today that VMware Workstation 7 was released this week that addresses some Windows 7 issues.
I miss my Debian install and thankfully it's on another drive waiting for me to return as soon as I get my head wrapped around Windows 7 for client support issues.
You forgot about the lazy admin that painstakingly documents the step by step process (including screenshots) of creating and maintaining PST files for users but neglects to inform them to never ever EVER copy a PST file that is open in an Outlook session. Oh and my favorite scenario is when there are hundreds of PST files on a single file server that open with Outlook and remain open/active all day/night without forced logoff policy. I love when I stumble on admins that recommend that they use the PST on a network share so they can be "backed up".
This justifies a signifigant increase in risking someone else's life and/or livelyhood? Ends justifies the means? Wow please increase the minimum driving age to 30... I mean if I flip someone the middle finger is it ok for them to wreck me or follow me to my destination and shoot me? I mean, afterall, that would be rather rude for me to do that and breaking a rule of two hands on the steering wheel.
I find that traffic jams and more accidents are caused by the chain reaction of events because of the assholes that do things like passing on the wrong side or changing lanes too close to an intersection. Add in the dolts that are texting, shaving, putting on makeup, etc and it's even worse. I-83 from PA to Baltimore blows...
And this is yet one more reason why the government shouldn't be giving people marriages. Anyone. Gay or straight. There's no reason to regulate marriages -- which are a religious institution and personal committment -- in any way, whatsoever. If there are financial things attached to a marriage, they should be handled as a private contract like anything else. And with the contractual obligations of marriage made explicit rather than existing in the legal code, I think this kind of garbage would end -- because two people in love wouldn't make each other sign grossly unfair contracts.
Or setup a WoW gold farming operation ... prison profit!

>Professional people wear professional attire. Sloppy people dress sloppy. I wear jeans and t-shirts when I'm not working.
The idea that I have a right to dress as I like while someone else is paying me is ludicrous. You are not entitled to wear what you want.
Was the umbilical cord in a knot when you were delivered or are you still experiencing oxygen deprivation?

Hey don't confuse us with those religious whack-job musicians, you insensitive clod!
