"...teaches kids it's OK to diss people because they are a woman, they're a different colour or they're from a different place."
That's funny, I thought it was OK to do diss and kill/beat up/rob/etc people in the game because they are virtual humans, not becaue they are virtual black people or women or immigrants. Oh yeah and they are virtual, I sure as hell wouldn't do those things in real life.
And children aren't meant to play that game, silly Senator.
6. Don't get locked into one file sharing program. Have you ever been on the hunt for a particular song? Some obscure indie rock tune or rare jazz performance you heard on the radio? You might have to search on more than one network before you find the song you're looking for."
it's all what you're into. Sorry man, but I'd rather listen to funny songs about drinking robotussin and flying around in space than serious songs about elves and fairies...depending on my mood, anyway. Heh.
My old job was equal parts awesome and awful, at first; as the screws turned and some really odd and bad events (politics) started to play themselves out at my old job, the equation tipped more towards awful. I started feeling...let's say say anxious (like, blood in places where blood should not be anxious), all of the damn time, I decided to leave.
I was a good boy, though, and stayed to try and help make the transition for new guy as smooth as possible (a couple of other people decided to leave, and they showed me the way NOT to leave an organization-especially one of them, who left innacurate information, missing password lists, and, well, "imaginitive" router configs that vanished with the first power outage).
So leave if you feel awful, but try to stay on good terms-no sense in making things worse, and you can look back on things with a minimum of regret and awkwardness.
I'm young though, single, no kids-so I was much more free to make that decision. I moved halfway across the country with no real plan and got lucky finding work, but if I had a kid, I don't think I could have been so reckless.
OK, let's say the drilling makes no impact (setting aside concerns about sinkholes, which may or may be a big deal in the middle of nowhere); OK, you've got transport, you've got leakage, and...kid, even deserts have a lot going on as far as life and ecology is concerned.
A lot of the concerns aren't just about oil being spilled, they are also about migration patterns being altered, possibly leading to some severe loss of life.
By the way, exactly how much oil are we going to extract out of ANWR, after all of this political, environmental, and logistical trouble? Enough to have actually been worth it?
Jesus god man, wtf? I live in Oakland, just moved here from Baltimore, and I find it to be pretty dang awesome. There are bad sections everywhere, even Baltimore had good sections.
um...wow. I was intentionally being ridiculous. Did I say "pass a law to.." or anything like that?
BY the way, four-year-olds, well, the couple I have watched, DON'T realize that they should stop doing that which makes them ill a lot of the time. The short term benefits live more fresh in their mind than the longer-term consequences.
I could have said the same about hard core alcoholics; they should stop drinking, but they don't. I didn't say they should be MADE to stop by military force or law. Geeze.
I did not know that I am also religious! (I am not, silly man)
Some people want a private nuke, though. Should they get that? It could be quite harmful to their neighbors...
People should get what they want, unless it's harmful. Imagine a four-year old who can eat ice cream all day-he wants to eat it, but he shouldn't.
Now, is "factory music" harmful, or harmless, i.e., does it make people worse or better after listening to it all day long?
I really don't have a hard opinion on that. However, I have my suspicions. It seems harmful to the culture as a whole to have the majority of popular music and outlets to said music controlled by a bunch of money-grubbing megacorps who could care less about the art, and all about the money. Such "revenue-generating product-first" practices seems to lead to cheap tricks and a stagnation in musical development.
Previous checks to this (independent music and venues) are under attack to some extent by the big companies now; what will happen if the big companies' creativity isn't forced by some external, independent pressure (like punk did in the 70's/rap in the 80's/grunge in the 90's?)

John Connor owned one too, that's how he gets he money from the ATM in T2. :)

but will it say what is in my sig:
Hell yeah! Good 'ol Capsule Corporation-I always wanted a bag full of kickin' transforming pills.
you...you don't mean that Star Wars isn't meant for...not meant to be...for adults?!

The TUSSIN! The TUSSIN!

Alaska drilling takes up a bit more space than that, mate.
The best Star Trek character was Commander John Sheridan :p
hear, hear. You sir, are on point.
It would be pretty awesome. The next rovers need to be tripods, too.
"The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one"
But still, they come!
I understand that in the movie, Zaphod's second head is inside his nostril.
Uh, WHAT?
Anyone have a transcript?
That particularly lovely model of printer also had "electrical problems"; that is, the power supply melted away! Then after a quick search I found I was not the only one with the same melty problem. So this news surprises me, but only because Lexmark is actually recalling a faulty product!
"Sam, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you..."

and I mean real alcohol-wine and not the "Not an Emulator"
I couldn't have said it beter myself. People, people, please, the immediate solution to the energy crisis is EFFICIENCY. Oi.
