I too have a CVT Insight-and I am a foot-to-the-floor driver, who loves going 85 mph on the highway (it can do 110 if you're feeling particularly patient and reckless, lol)
My mileage, despite my crazy driving? Not too shabby @ around 48 miles per gallon city, 55 on the highway. Beats my old Buick Electra, that's fer sure (yay! 14 miles per gollan#$%#$%)
I wouldn't say it's a "good versus evil" type of flick. To me, WOTW seemed to be a tale of how insignificant humanity is in the grand scheme of things. Humans don't even get to take the Martians out-it's those pesky germs!
I know how future Palm users can listen to MP3s and take a phone call easily enough and still be more "productive"-the phone needs to be able to have push-to talk like a Nextel phone.
With THAT
the MP3 can still play while you diddle in Pocketword and talk in public about who is going to take the kids to practice or what drugs you are going to buy or something else inane. OH THANK YOU PALM, YOU HAVE MADE THE MOST OBNOXIOUS TECHNOLOGY EVER CREATED EVEN BETTER AT BEING OBNOXIOUS AND EASY TO ABUSE!!
Hmmm... You're a PPC game developer, The wonderful Yak is also a PPC game dev. You have a tempest-y looking game, and he is responsible for the glorious Tempets 2000 and Tempest 3000.
Scientific conclusion:
You must be kin!
I have been thinking about switching for a while now, but it's a pain in the $%^ to switch to a new number-so it's kept me from seriously exploring my options. When this goes into effect, though...oh man, I am so getting a new phone+plan! Goodbye Ericsson phone that resets every other time someone calls me!
SpaceShip One has to be significantly cheaper than the 2.4 billion they're talking about for the simple ferry system NASA is talking about here. Couldn't they use some jacked version of SS1 (capable of reaching orbit) and save a lot of money/time/effort/etc?
A dyson sphere would be very very dark-visible-wavelength wise, anyway. You'd probably be able to pick it up on infrared, but the point of a Dyson sphere is to contain as much of the dying star's energy as possible. A perfect dyson sphere would be invisible to the rest of the universe-except for it's massive gravity well, that is.
Hmmm....well, there's FreeDOS, right? Could try that. TinyBSD's a good candidate, supposedly. Need a window manager...mebbe X comes with TinyBSD...I dunno, I think FreeGEM might be able to run on top of it (?).
Man, this is kind of rough. One recommendation: get something that is fun for your kid. Some simple-as-all-heck games like Tetris, a paint program, you know; something kids like to play with.
The paint program on my old Tandy1000 was all that kept me going some days. It was fun even without a mouse.
Cybikos can share Internet connections between each other within a ceratin range; as long as someone has a Cybiko hooked up to his main computer and its internet connection, other Cybikos can pick up on the signal and use it for wireless internet. Pretty neat, actually-I wonder how hard it would be to hack them up for a complete p2p system as described above?
All I want to know is how close will this show come to having giant fighting mechs, a la the prophetic film "Robot Jox". If it's close then I WILL WATCH EVERY EPISODE. If, however, it's simply a competition to see how well these machines fare while racing along a crazy course, well...let's just say it could be better. MUCH better.
I heard this particular theory over at Ain't It Cool... if you check out this link: http://www.dailynews.com/business/articles/0801/31/BIZ01.asp You'll notice that some of the writers who were protesting Nick's shoddy treatment of themselves worked on...INVADER ZIM! Another show listed is "Constant Payne," which never saw the light of day. And didn't they cancel "Spongebob Squarepants" too? It's also listed. Hmm.
Maybe it's nothing, and the show was cancelled simply because they didn't know how to handle it, just like the John K. days of Ren & Stimpy. Funny how whenever I would tell someone about Zim, I would always say, "...and for some reason Nicklodeon is airing it." Zim is so subversive and dark-I think all of us knew this day would come, at least those of us who remember what happened to Ren & Stimpy...at least they didn't fire Vasquez and re-edit the show in horrible horrible ways. Well, at least HOPEFULLY they won't...
It was in a short story I read a while back, I believe by Bob Shaw. My memory about it is pretty vague, but from what I remember "slow glass" somehow slowed light down to a crawl, holding a slowly-changing image for years and years. Is this something like that?
They had a VR system set for the home market (developed with Virtuality), to be released on their Jagur system in the mid-90's. It never came out-prototypes exist-but Zone Hunter was one of the games set for release (it never saw the light od day). Missile Command 3D was released, however.
Why wasit stopped? Expenses, for one (Atari was nearly bankrupt at the time, and couldn't afford to support a high-end and pricey VR headset). The head-tracking was a bit off, too-headaches and motion sickness were common. (They may have disabled it afterwards, I'm not sure).
Still, to this day I want one...but you hear about VR nowadays about as often as you hear about Atarui;)
Back in te day, they made a special version of Battlezone to be used as an "official" tank simulator. it was eventually canned, but there was a decent amount of effort put into it. Then again, it's not like they made a game WITH the army to sell to kids, but hey, game company-DOD collaboration isn't new.
Unles "Missile Command" was early propaganda for the "Star Wars" program...;)

Oddly enough, it's Opera 3.62. It displays the page poorly, but it does get into MSN.com. It ID's itself as Mozilla, too (not sure which version). However, Mozilla, Lynx, and Net+ are barred from entry...
This sort of thing has been getting worse for a long time now, though. How many of you had problems over the past year accessing Hotmail with anything but a the "latest and greatest" Microsoft browser?
Granted, many of these are early betas (and, *sniff*, PS has been discontinued on BeOS. But there is a surprising amount of stuff out there. It's my OS of choice, and it plays most any movie I find (except.asf and new Quicktime, of course), does my e-mail, websurfing, word processing, my newest web development, etc. It's not for everyone, but it's nice...and I would love to see a new version...*sniff*

I got that one a few times; always memorable. Almost as fun as seeing your GUI melt into the joy of a KDL:

Here is where you look for it's status:

It's the New Year and God still hates me.
After all, without him we couldn't have great jokes like these at his expense!

She makes her own CDs with her own label, Righteous Babe records. Moderate success there,too...but again, an exception.
Wesley Willis is independent, too. Rock on Chicago!
