The EHarmony guy has given lots and lots of interviews where he has said pretty clearly that they want to match people with similar morals, values, etc...

Senator Kerry, How do you reconcile the strict environmental guidelines established by the Kyoto Protocols - which you have spoken in favor of - with the creation and continuation of high tech - and therefore high energy consumption - industries?
Most people don't realize that in the 2000 elections, for nearly every state Gore lost to Bush because of Nader, Bush lost one to Gore because of Buchanon.
Third parties due make a difference... if major party A gets 45% of the vote, major party B gets 42% of the vote, and minor party C - which is most like B - gets 5% of the vote, there's going to be a shift.
Nader caused the shakeup for the Dems in 2000, but Perot did it for the Reps in 1992. It cuts both ways.
How do you reconcile the strict environmental guidelines established by the Kyoto Protocols with the creation and continuation of high tech - and therefore high energy consumption - industries such as software development?
But after typing the sentence above, I realized that this could be used as a political censorship tool. Hmm a state could trample on transmissions they deemed undesirable - what would some conservative states say about the Howard Stern show?
That's where the principle of property rights applies...
If someone starts parking their car in your garage - preventing you from using it, there is legal recourse. Whether the State or a private individual does it, it's the same thing.
Generally current Liberals don't seem to respect *anyone's* property rights... whether you're talking about IP, vehicles (seatbelt laws), people's bodies (smoking laws), and taking money from people by threat of force (taxes).
I've built a simple Java app that parses through an mp3 file and can do exactly this. You feed it three parameters... the begin time, the duration, and a filename and it outputs the request.
I originally did this for a *large* organization which had a huge number of sound recordings and they wanted specific cuts and already had the offsets and durations.
Was that a dumb one or what? Though, it allowed the exact behavior that Microsoft intended. Unfortuantely, the malicious users used it for other things...
Expensing stock options would essentially count the value of the options as an additional "payment" to the employee. Therefore, the company (and probably the employee) would have to pay taxes on it as it would essentially be income.
So for anyone who could get paid in stock options, you may have to pay taxes when you get them *AND* when you get rid of them. This is one form of "double taxation" that gets discussed over and over again.
I wonder what's going to happen the first time they start to lose their users' data? Do you sue the government knowing that the settlement will just be funded by charging the comsumer (ie the public) more?
I'm sure we'll be able to trust Indiana as an honest player. People gripe about Google scanning your email, but other seem to think that the government should store their files for them?

I have a Netgear Router/Firewall purchased in late 2000 (updates have been installed) and I haven't had a problem yet. It cost $100 back then and I got another for $20 last summer.
I even make a point of not allowing any XP box on my home network while any other Windows box is on it.
What schedule/planning creation process do you use? What sort of prioritization system do you use to rank the active projects? What are some techniques you use for improving/encouraging productivity during especially streesful periods of a project?
I know that it's possible to get pat answers, but if the guy (or lady) is worth anything, he/she is going to be able to tell you about times in the past where these situations occured.
After all, *all* of our projects are on time, on budget, with minimal stress... Riiight.

Except for McCain-Feingold which somehow trumped the First Amendment without actuallly amending the Constitution...
Nah, protecting political speech isn't important anyway, right?
Kerry voted for the Patriot Act, the DMCA, COPA, and every copyright extension that has come along while he's been in office.
If he's elected, is he going to continue in this direction or radically change?
This is what my car stereo does. It was an upgrade from the factory standard package, but I managed to get it for free when I bought the car.

Once I did do this. I had already had vacation approved and ended up getting a different job offer.
So the day before I left, I gave my 2 weeks notice...

Drop me an email for details.
Uh no...
The boss of my company is named "Bill". His password for *everything* is "Bill5" and it's not encrypted anywhere.
I'd love to know how many of the 14 year olds around here even know who most of those people are...
Luckily there's Google.
Haha.
This is the guy who *gave* us the idea of "Big Media"... Turner was one of the prime movers that got people majorly interested in cable.
This is like Neil Armstrong complaining about "all those footprints on the Moon".
I've started the initiative within our web development group to make all of the applications Mozilla/Firefox compatible.
It's really not that tough most of the time, there are even dozens of guides that show the Javascript equivalent for things and all of that.
Of course, if you use ActiveX components, you're probably screwed.
That statement about contacting your Congress-critter is at the bottom of *nearly all* of Townhall's articles.
It's not specific to this one, it appears someone forgot to un-click the "Display Congress-Critter Info" box.
hey, it doesn't do desireable behavior, so the authors overlooked something.

It depends who's defining "desirable".
Like who in the world came up with the idea for a Javascript function in IE that allows a webpage to set the users' homepage!?

It's good that the UN has solved all of the world's *serious* problems like genocide, war, malnutrition.
Whew. I thought they'd never be done with that..
Oh what, Coffee & Crew are ignoring Rwanda, the Sudan, China, and a whole host of other issues/nations.
Don't forget Bring it On where she played a very dumb blonde teenage in a slightly more exaggerated manner...
er... nevermind.
No, it doesn't have anything to do with it.

Cute, huh?
Good call.
Would you pay *any* taxes if the threat of fine and/or imprisonment wasn't looming over you?
Odds are they're going to try to reconcile the number of accounts at a given address to tax records and/or school records.
Gov:
"We have 3 thousand people who seem to live at 100 Main St, Indianapolis, but only 3 people filed taxes listing that address. Hmmm..."
What are the TOS?

How about something serious like:
What schedule/planning creation process do you use?
What sort of prioritization system do you use to rank the active projects?
What are some techniques you use for improving/encouraging productivity during especially streesful periods of a project?
