This guy is spot on. I deal with this for a living. Every once in a while you'll see an easement into property they actually own or lease going into buildings or up to cell towers, but other than that nearly all of a given telecom's outside plant is in public right-of-way.
As of right now there have been 543 "development" tier donations. Even if only 1/10 of them get used to make a game, that's still 54 games. And since 80% of everything is crap, that still at least 10 decent games at or near launch.
I read on another website that the opposite is true. There are terms that allow DirectTV to drop channels but the subscriber can't drop DirectTV after losing channels without paying the ETF.
You do have to love how the distributors bitch that the content producers bundle channels & then go and do the exact same thing to the subscribers.
Me? I don't care, I dropped cable years & years ago when I realized the quality was steadily decreasing while the prices did the opposite. Anything I really want to see I can get on DVD or watch for free online.
Telecom network designer here. I can't vouch for power companies, but as far as communications lines, it really is that much cheaper to put them up a pole that you already own or a paying a pittance of a lease for then to bury them & have to deal with:
a.) Design. The poles are already there & in some instance they are maintained by a different company entirely. Locating existing UG utilities is expensive. Some counties in Florida are now requiring GPR readings before they let you place anything. Ground penetrating radar &/ or LiDAR crews are expensive.
b.) Permits (Railroad, DOT, City, County, & sometimes bridge or Dept of Environmental Protection) And they all want something different on their permits.
b.) Construction. Most companies contract out boring. Directional boring rigs aren't cheap to run. Conduit is more expensive to place than the metal strand that goes between poles. It's quite literally 4 times more expensive to place UG plant than aerial plant & that is before the before the cost of the above items is taken into consideration.
Also, you really can't compare Europe to the USA. Europe is tiny & crammed. We are very, very spread out. Case in point, the *city* I live in is just slightly smaller than Luxembourg.
No, this one is an Intel, I've got it with me right now since she managed to get about 12 viruses on it, just couldn't remember the model name at work.
Transmeta, there is a name I haven't heard in a while.
Seems like we're trying to circumvent natural selection.....let these people take themselves out of the gene pool....and maybe we'll have fewer stupid people in a couple of generations?
If only it worked like that. Unfortunately, the dumber they get the more they breed. And they always do so before the heart attack or cancer gets them.
At my company we call them "folks with broad skill sets." That's who we hire. Hard to keep someone with a too-narrow skill set busy doing work that's of actual value.
San Fran & it's surrounds are very liberal. The rest of the state, not quite as much. Not that I think that has *anything* to do with the test results.

If it launches of course.

The only cure would be to outlaw bribery.
Bribery is legal where you live?
I have a 17" laptop because sometimes I have to draft in places other than my work or home office.
I used to have to lug a desktop around for that. Believe me, a large laptop is a lot easier to lug around than a small desktop.

Cucumbers aren't vegetables & 3 small slices of one isn't particularly nutritious either.
Better than french fries I guess...
I haven't touched a Blizzard title since the Bnet.d fiasco.

Yeah, that's actually it, I thought it was weird cause it had Compaq & HP on the same chassis.
They were pretty popular with people doing field engineering for telecom companies at one point too. Getting replaced with regular tablets now.
Well personally, I've never met a Toshiba that wasn't a total piece of crap.
My cousin has had an HP that did this before the iPad was a thing. It runs WinXP for Tablets.
How, if at all, would this affect a website like PopVox?

Actually, my fiancé's brother has all that, but you are way down at the bottom of his list behind the NSA & another large security firm.
A moderate with a decent head on their shoulders?
Being an engineer doesn't mean one is sane either.
Good point. Osama Bin Laden was an engineer.
Maybe they figured out a way to force hash collisions?

Mine was great. Sucks to be you I guess.
I bet they all believe in the Theory of Gravity & use dihydrogen monoxide on a regular basis as well!
