Part of this control manefests itself by giving the One a strong connection to humanity. In Neo's case, it was more specific - to one person, Trinity. Because of Neo's strong connection to her, he wasn't going to say 'fuck you' to the Architect and blow the whole place up.
The impression I got was that this was the first time that the One had been in love, hence the reason why he didnt take either of the choices presented to him, and he made his own path.....

What sort of format is a laserdisc? Something non-digital?
Yeah, a laserdisk is technically just an analogue record, but instead of being made out of vinyl, it's made out of titanium cut with a laser (hence the name, laser disk). It is the same size as a record, but needs a special record player with TV out, and a slightly thinner needle to read the grooves as they are a lot thinner on the laserdisc as you need to put video on it as well as sound!
From the main 'article: And reader Ignorant Aardvark wrote to us about BitTorrent sites disappearing, possibly because of RIAA/MPAA intervention
The only reason sites like torrentse are actually down, is because slashdot keeps fucking linking to them, saturating their bandwidth and adding loads of leaching slashdot fucktards to the communities.
It's got absolutly fuck all to do with the MPAA/RIAA. The irony here is actually making me wet myself.
I mean, you report on BitTorrent, what, twice a week? Slashdotting all the tracker sites repeatedly, then wonder why they don't work. ITS COS YOU FUCKS ARE RAPING THE BANDWIDTH! There is no RIAA conspiracy here!
It's not just a game though, it's a business. Do you also not think that anyone hacking Amazon should get prosecuted? They also didn't just 'find a way to comprimise security', they found it, then instigated it.
Oh, this is damned funny, but if the that people did it got caught, they should expect to get into trouble.
Your MS analogy is completly crap and utterly irrelevent as well. UBI are taking responsiblity by patching the servers, doing rollbacks and fixing things.
Remind them that you still can't undelete a file in Linux.
You can undelete with Ext2 but not with Ext3. Something to do with Ext3 actually deleting the node, and Ext2 just deleting the reference to the node.
Unfortunatly, I found this out the hardway the other day.
GNOME needs more user friendly documentation.

GNOME has some wonderful technologies at it's disposal, but the documentation is crap. Reading someone else's code is not the best way to learn imho, and some decent documentation covering bonobo etc is just what the doctor ordered.
Firebird is built with XUL, the Mozilla project's cross-platform widget set, while Camino is built with Cocoa, Apple's "application environment".
The last i heard, the Gecko rendering engine used XUL to render the widgets (combo boxes, text entries, text areas, etc.) so even apps like K-Meleon, Galeon and Camino still use XUL.
Can someone tell me why I need a 3d accelerated desktop?
Read the article. It's not a 3D desktop, but rather the rendering of the desktop takes advantages of the hardware features of 3D graphics cards. e.g. alpha blending.
Next week can someone please post a free porn site that deals with real people, with perhaps a few series from playboy, as I really don't get off on this cartoon crap, and the google api blocks porn!
The GPL allows you to use non-free libraries. Place those six lines in foo.c, GPL foo.h, and like foo.o to your final binary. Don't distribute foo.c with the rest of your app.
Nah, thats the LGPL. The GPL doesn't let you link against non-GPL libs IIR.
if this means adding an opacity slider to Metacity;)
Would the Window Manager take care of the opacity of a window, so it was either all transparent or none, or would this be something the application involved did, to make parts of the app transparent and other parts solid?
Transparency is nice, I'd like to have all my popup menus transparent but not necessarily their parent windows, I think things are going to get complicated fast perhaps though!
So, let me get this straight - you want unprofitable Apple/Universal to sell their music at less than they do now, and pay their artists less.
Yes, thats exactly what I want. I also want more/. posters to use extremist examples when putting across their opinions as it makes for really fun 'discussion'. Artists often don't get paid a whole lot anyway. I think I read somewhere that TLC only made $50k on their first album even though it was huge. Still, it's more than I, my friends or my parents make! Alot of artists seem to get stuck in slave contracts.
I can think of no better way to kill Apple/Universal than that. If you pay performers less, they'll just go elsewhere, to other labels, you know? And selling CDs on the cheap will only aggravate the current profitability situation (or lack thereof). Taking losses on unpopular artists is exactly how _not_ to run a business.
If it's all about the money, they should just get another job that pays more? Or do more gigs? Im not necessarily saying make the artists live in hovels and eat only bread and water, but if you really don't think that the industry wouldn't beable to get by if CDs cost anything less than £17, and the Artists did more gigs (shit, we saw Madder Mortem last month, and bought both their albums for just £10! HMV price is £15 ffs!) then I believe you are mistaken!
is buy a CD online for a much reduced price (where is the golden rule that says music produces/artist have to be millionaires? I mean, noone else is..) but then rather than have to wait 2/3 days before it's delivered so I can listen to it, be given the oppotunity to download high bitrate ogg's of the album. That way I get the music on demand, and get the tangable album in a few days time too.
The dot com bubble burst, and techies took their pay cut.. I think it's about time the media bubble burst and the 'stars' take their pay cut too!

Get used to it.
Lets have a look then, give us an url for a web site you'll done. Then we'll decide if you are a professional web developer or not.
:(
I didnt say it, Slashdot stripped out the IRC tags from the quote i pasted so it made less sense
NO SONNY
PEOPLE JUST USE YOUR COMPETITORS SITE
AS THAT WORKS
And that's straight from the mouth of a professional web developer!
didn't have any spinny flaming skulls on it, and their wasnt a single biohazard sign anywhere! :(
I severely doubt it's integrity and capability with regard to teaching me the kiddie skillz I need to get by on IRC nowadays!

I'm on my home lan, connected to the Internet via NAT and Trepia seems to think I'm not connected to the Internet.
Stunning. Anyone else having problems?
I don't know how an honest question regarding bittorrent can be considered offtopic...
You aren't the first person to point out Slashdot's obliteration of all things tracker and get modded down for it! But on a more serious note, just get the original seeder to make a new .torrent file with the new tracker information in it (or anyone that has completed downloading the file). Their is stuff to do it on Brahm's site.
How is this flamebait? It's the truth.
You might not like it, but its fact!
They should really swap to IPV6 then.
I mean, thats the point of the protocol. Complaining about a lack of addresses and not using IPV6 is a bit silly.

Pupkin and Elftor!
Not necessarilly techy, but the funniest things on the Internet imho!
Also, is slashdot a tad borked atm? Posts I'm making are dissapearing...
will always be Pupkin followed by Elftor!
Not really techy, but you dont have to live computer all the time.. do you?
