I think Saudi Arabia is a hot bed of disgusting thought. The question is how best to deal with this (especially if we're dependent on them for oil). As dependency drops I hope that our government(s) tolerance for an oppressive theology diminishes.

Of course it would help if private citizens would not be so cowardly and not hesitate to denounce those branches of Islam that are willing to use force and intimidation to further their aims.

Sorry. Some workers will have more money but others will have less. You will pay more for your meal and have less to spend elsewhere. So what you have done is redistribution (may be a good idea or a bad idea) but what you will not have done to a much less extent than you this is to create more wealth in the economy at large. And, as often happens, you may actually cause a contraction in the economy.

  15. Trump is economically liberal (big business crony-capitalist) and socially conservative. The Koch Brothers have been promoting more Libertarian view points. This may all fall under the Big Tent view of Republicans but they are not the same.

The Democrats have similar problems. They used to be the party of labor. They are no longer. Witness the Keystone Pipeline debates. A lot of labor which had previously supported the Democrats are now voting for Trump.

Trump is a populist. Weird but there it is. A billionaire NYC real estate developer acts like a populist and get support because of his populist rhetoric.
