but it is already happening globally to some extent think smartwatches and smartphones. they all have gps tracking. then you have your cars and smart homes.
seeing this happen more and more from different monthly subscription services. wondering how long it will be before apple pull the apps from their store.
alexa and its programmers still has a lot to learn so there will be inappropriate responses at times. this is no different than a child responding inappropriately with something they heard from other family members. do they call the child creepy? Nope, most will laugh.
fortunately, there are still plenty of distros out there that will cater to older 32 bit machines and lubuntu will still be supported until 2021 so it is not the end of the world - yet:-)
of course Google will get more questions right. They own a search engine and can fix things so their google home can find answers. besides, I got better things to do than to ask it stupid questions. I want something that will make me lazy. I want something that will actually work with all of my smarthome devices. I want something that will actually hear me. I have both and mainly use alexa while google home is a backup/troubleshooter.
a real test would include every feature, not just pick and choose the best feature and claim the device is the best because of it.
microsoft done their own share of sabotage over the years. I still remember what they did to drdos and os/2 among others. I remember when microsoft released frontpage and what it did to websites and browsers. I remember...
Over the years microsoft has been complaining about google thi and, google that. maybe google is part of the evil empire these days but microsoft has been a member of it for years, long before google was in existence.
It is no different that what microsoft did with each major os update. they always expect computer manufacturers, software companies and others to update their products to work with their new operating system. the shoe is on the other foot.
but if you want to talk about sabotage, microsoft has a history of it, all the way back to drdos and os/2
You need to check with the specific streaming services terms of use to see what they say about their streaming. Most likely most will have a way out if the video is not up to par. Also, sometimes the streaming video is based on the actual speed of your internet at the time of the streaming (Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc). In addition some service providers will throttle the stream - especially if mobile.
IMO, getting a measuring tool would really be a waste of time.
lets not forget that the Arbitrator will be bias. If they lose too many cases for Uber, they will get fired and another Arbitrator will be brought in. IMO, they will lose just enough to keep their job. I always felt arbitrating was a scam in itself.
fees depend on the card and the user I have a prepaid card I use for samsung pay since my bank does not support it. I pay one dollar a month and free refills at walmart and a number of other stores. I would not even need to pay the buck if I would deposit a bit more each month. there are fees if you use an atm and other services but I never needed them.
Not surprising. even employees of the fcc should not burn bridges to their future job prospects. most of the top fcc officials usually end up in the industry when they leave government service.
don't blame the employees for buying condos before the announcement. I have no problems with this as long as the purchase was for their own use and not to resell after the announcement.
true calling depends on the user. for me, alexa's true calling is to make me lazy. No longer do I have to get out of bed on a cold morning to turn up the heat. No longer do I have to get out of a comfortable, living room recliner to turn off tv's, lights and other controlled devices in the bedrooms. No longer do I have to look for a remote in order to turn off the tv before leaving the house. No longer do I have to go from room to room to make sure everything it turned off before going to bed. no longer do I have to physically turn on the tv or radio to play music, to listen to the news or catch the weather. It's all for the asking...
come to think of it, maybe the only thing that found its true calling is me - being lazier than before:-)
I will stick to the free versions. don't need windows at all.
I have linux on all of my computers. over the years I may have had one computer that either dual boot or just windows" just in case." but for the last couple of years I have not needed windows except to make sure it was updated so it is now gone.
I could live without my smartphone with absolutely no problems - as long as I have my tablet :-)
at least those RFID cards don't have gps tracking as the chinese uniforms supposedly have.
Don't know that many houses that can hold 300 people or was this a mansion?

it is the same with a lot of testing and reviews when published. everything you read is so bias these days so you never get the whole picture.

If normal, why did bending not appear on older models?
wonder if the real reason for the so called security fix, is logitech is not getting a royalty for the third party connections.

Once you willingly unlock your phone for the officer. he can legally search it if he feels it is necessary. No thank you, I will stick with the card.
If the mapping company blurred out secret bases, how did they know those bases were there if they were a secret???

I wonder if this means that any subscriptions that does not go through the google play store will be suspected and a warning will be given?
