I only give out unique email addresses to each site that asks for one. I get drug and penis enlargement spam emails to the one I only gave to NetBank. Kind of worrying since that's who I bank with.
I did try and contact them about this but I just got the standard we'll remove you from our 3rd party lists response. I didn't manage to get them to understand that it can only be from them and that drug and penis enlargement emails are probably not on their 3rd party lists.... I hope.
This is just one of MANY reason not to shop at Best Buy. Their business practices and treatment of customers is terrible. It's this that is driving other stores out of the market leaving us with no other options. The Consumerist has a nice list.
For a while now, when flying domestic the airlines have not been checking ID. ID is only checked by the TSA.
Anyhow, how can checking ID possibly help stop terrorism?
1. Boarding cards, especially online are incredibly easy to fake. 2. Fake ID is easy to come by. 3. If someone has decided they are going to fly a plane into a building and kill themselves in the process why would they care about showing their ID? Or buying a ticket with their real name on it? 4. etc..
17" is more than big enough for that resolution. I would like a 19" 1600 x 1200 display but alas I have to buy a CRT for that, or 20.1" LCD for $600 or more.
I do wish I could buy a desktop LCD made of the same stuff my $1,000 15.4" 1920 x 1200 laptop is made off.
I think it's still useful for people like you (and me).
When you have people over for a party or whatever it's great to have a huge selection of music available. Let people add to the playlist, stick it on random and everyones happy.
I enjoyed the Rhapsody subscription model until I bought a portable player. Napster To Go seams to fix that problem and dare I say it, since Microsoft license their DRM I'll have more choice of where I can play the music.
They are not forcing you to buy music from iTMS but they are forcing you to buy an iPod if you want to play music you've bought from iTMS on a portable device (without burning to CD and ripping of course).
I think I'd rather the person calling me picked up the tab. They are calling me at their convenience not mine.

Nope, you'll have to charter a plane or get your own plane to be able to do that.

If there is demand for high resolution displays on laptops why not desktop LCD's?
Also why are both 17" and 19" desktop LCD's stuck at the same 1280x1024 resolution?
I just thought it was funny. Sorry for having a sense of humour.
Look at the bottom of this: http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/privacy/consumer_ opt.jsp
"Additionally, if you do not want to receive e-mail communications from us, you must provide us with the e-mail address we should not contact."
Maybe I should give them all my credit card numbers as well so they know not to charge them?

Anyone know why I can't?
They've been there done that http://www.amazon.co.uk/
Their other advantage is they've already done this in the UK.
It's very cool to see the driving directions route on the satellite images as well.
Which reminds me, has anyone managed to print a google maps route map without loosing the route line on the map?
The cable companies don't need to license Tivo. You can go buy your own Tivo cable box soon:

I was tempted to buy a Zen Micro before I saw Napster To Go. But now it's even more tempting.
I liked Rhapsody but you can't use it with a portable player. Napster To Go seams to solve that problem.
The Zen Micro also has a radio and a changeable battery.

I take your point, but...
Burning a song to a CD costs 99 cents on iTunes just as it does on Napster. You have to buy the song to be able to burn it in both models.
Granted, you may also be paying for a subscription with Napster. How significant that is depends on how many songs you actually buy each month.
Now if Napster combined the song buying discounts of their regular subscription service with the new to go service, that would be nice.
P.S. Just noticed there are actually 10 compatible players.
This service has only just launched and there are already 3 different manufacturers players to choose from.
How is that worse?

Ooops someone else beat me to it. Damn my slow fingers.
This isn't dead... yet.

It's the other way around.

The cable providers may not want them but why does that matter?
If I can buy a CableCard Tivo then the cable provider is required to let me use it.
Does anyone know if there will be a CableCard Tivo soon?
I'd say non-Americans. It's an American phrase and even though I've been living in the US for a few years it caught me off guard.
