I've never had a manager, in IT related positions, that had more tech knowledge than I did. They just had the misfortune of getting sucked into low-level management which I've been able to avoid. Of course, I usually get stuck with the 'project lead' moniker. Upper management is a different story; all sorts there.
I'm not so sure that is a good idea, either. I was told, albeit a while back, that not including any past jobs and/or education is lying. It might be a lie of omission, but the job apps I've seen, asked for all past positions and education. I'd suggest speaking to a an expert in the field before excluding things.
Very odd, indeed. I have the Kindle on three of my PCs and my Android smartphone. All the books exist on all the machines. As a matter of fact, I had the same book opened to three different pages at the same time.
Is this something that happens on Apple products only? Only certain books?
I should never post before my coffee. I've said that before. I had two different posts in mind and blended them together into a mess. I'll go away now and hide.
Can you name any major political change that happened through normal democratic methods without widespread protests ?
Sure.
Women getting the vote.
Many were arrested at protests and rallies and these had the intended consequence of shocking the public. In many cases, the intention of the protestors were to be arrested, thereby ensuring that the press would cover the story and get publicity for their cause.
But there was no violence against the movement by the government or by the movement itself.
Really, you need to learn your history before popping off.

How sad that your parents did that. I had my first soldering iron at 8 or 9. Only after my father taught me how to use his safely.
And that just reminded me of something I did when I was around 12. A neighbor dropped a small portable radio. The case was broken and ceased to work. I fixed the electronics part of it, but the case was in small pieces. I built a new case out of Legos. I plotted out the design on paper, drilled a few holes in a few pieces and my father mixed up a small batch of epoxy.
I played with Lego as a kid, some 50 years ago and my daughters, adults now, played with them as a kid. As you found, those 'unimaginative' kits get added into the mix to create things that neither the plain brick variety or kit pieces alone could make. When someone is sick, the blocks still come out. When the grandkids come ( someday ), they will have an ungodly number of bricks.
BTW, I am not a Lego purist. I have added Duplo ( Lego too, I know ) and Mega-blocks. The Mega-blocks are cheaper, but they fit. The also have these neat little hinged pieces.
Find some analog dials. They feel so much more satisfying than having it hooked up to a digital counter. And I once saw an old-fashioned typewriter used as a keyboard. A real pain for serious work, but it looked so cool.
Never block anything. Get a court order, watch the bits and arrest the miscreant that has them. Track the bits back to the originator and haul their asses away. Do this often and in a public manner.
... I had a website that was so popular that it would be a target of Anonymous.
And then I would get out on the porch and bellow, "Get off my lawn!"
Okay, so where to we sent the money to help Henderson with his legal issues and get the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office to behave properly?
I would have modded ya up, but I don't waste them on AC. Sorry...

At least they won't force a completely awful replacement UI just after you have gotten to like and understand the old one. For no reason.
Oh, wait...
Absolutely correct. And I'll do what I can to prevent it in the future.
And crap!

My apologies, Joss.

Bugger off.

I'm not sure where that thing wound up. :(
And the janitor wrote the piece?
Tons and tons of them. Look on Lego's site for the part number.

They should have to vote on each and every target and its subsequent launch.
Actually, you are quite correct. But only in the EU. In the US, not so.

Shadow??? We don't need no steekin' shadow. We do it in broad daylight.
Nononono.

You must be really be depressed if your own mother won't friend you.
If you want to go there, the sex analogy that is, it is more akin to rape, not prostitution.
I'm saying NO! And they wait until I'm not watching and jump my digital bones.
I don't care what they do with it. Just leave my data out of it.
Oh, those were sweet. I still have mine. Original box, too. Although, I can't say, "Mint in Box"
Actually, I don't even know if it still works, but it there it sits...
Oh. Books. Lots and lots of books.
