The book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. He spends a fair amount of time discussing this exact thing. Wonderful read that everyone should invest a few hours in.
Once you've gotten your spiffy projector built, you might as well attach it properly to the ceiling. I didn't build my own projector, but I did build my own projector mount. I have pictures and more details available. I've built the mount for a couple of different types of projectors, but the design can easily work for just about any projector. Total cost ended up being 2 or 3 bucks for the hardware. I had a couple of old pieces of wood lying around, so I didn't have to buy that.
and checked my stats and it gave my name as something else. Said that "I" had earned 8 bucks, and I knew that I hadn't actually earned that much.
So, needless to say, I quickly turned off the accelerator and won't be using it again until I know it has fixed that. The 27 seconds it had saved me wasn't worth that.
Some more details (showed up on the new Oregon post)..
The browser doesn't actually hang indefinitely.. It just hangs for about five minutes and the status line at the bottom (mozilla) reads 'transferring images from images.slashdot.org.
Anyway, thanks for the reply and it hasn't been an issue yet, since my "secret" posts have all been small enough that I haven't needed to 'read more' to get the whole story....
For the last two 'red' posts, (Austin and China's CPU) every time I click on 'Read More' I got a hung browser with a title of 'Error'. Is this supposed to be working?
> There are several implementations in HTML that allow you to upload any font to a clients browser, so that you can display the page, as you intended it, instead of having the client browser pick a font at random for them. It's easy enough to do, just requires one line of code, and the font uploaded to the server.
This is in a platform, browser independent way? Prove it. I want to see it.
Maybe this is all a big conspiracy BY Microsoft. Maybe they figure they can sacrifice their own product sales in that part of the world so that they can eliminate other companies. at the same time. Go MS Go!
It just depends on how you look at it. There can be significant advantages in going OO. One is that it can simplify parallelization of the code if written correctly. Take a look at the molecular dynamics program NAMD and you will see what I mean.

I had a broken screen that caused me all kinds of grief with Gateway. I finally (kinda) got what I had coming to me, though. You can read about it at:

I need to be making my own money!
I'd mod this up if I could

Somehow I doubt you built this down to the letter. There are no HDTV tuners that MythTV support at this time.
:) actually, I probably could have handled it, but I didn't clear it before doing it, and I don't want to be a pain for people around here.
sorry.. too much traffic.. had to take it down..

Really now, who cares about the hardware? It's all about the games!
(Alright.. we care a _little_ about the hardware... but it's all about the games!)

So,
I just got sucked on and subscribed.

My favorite quote in the review:
"This should be teaching granny to suck eggs for a book aimed at administrators, but it's only a few pages and completes the subject."
Sounds like you need to be using NAMD to do your MD simulations..

TiVo-ites from the forums in the Chicago area (and beyond) are also planning to have TiVo BBQ this August.
Don't know yet how many TiVo employees are going to show up but if you read the forums and are in mid-america you should show up.
Information on the get together is at:

One of the FAQ items was: How does this affect battery life?
and the answer was 30-40%. They have been seeing around 10 hours of life using the light all the time.

Gotta be Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
What's with it costing 60 bucks, though? Sheesh.
