    I once went into a US Air Force base outside of the US to do geological measurements for the local government. The guards okayed the measurements but drew a rectangle on the map and put an x over it and said: "You can not enter this area under any circumstances!" Most UFO nuts would have thought "Oooo... suspicious!" But we found out after looking at the location from a distance it was simply where they kept the F-15's.

    Military bases generally have something to hide! Fighter jets, big fucking guns, nukes, etc...

    According to dictionary.com a planet is:
    "A nonluminous celestial body larger than an asteroid or comet, illuminated by light from a star, such as the sun, around which it revolves. In the solar system there are nine known planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto."

    Maybe this should be changed to:

    A nonluminous celestial body large enough to be spherical from gravity, illuminated by light from a star, such as the sun, around which it revolves. In the solar system there are nine known planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Sedna.

    The article goes on and on about how a more human looking robot would get a worse reaction from people. But the only thing they point to to prove it is Masahiro Mori's untested theory.

    I think a more human looking face will simply be able to emote more efficiently since humans are very skilled in recieving emotions from human looking faces. That way the face on the McRobot Clerk at McDonalds can express his willingness to serve you without words.

    I can imagine a bunch of ways images of bank notes could be used legally, as a texture on money for a 3D rendering, a background on a cover of a rap album, to make a obviously fake note for toys, etc...

    This is just as silly as banning export of encryption software, it only affects honest people, not criminals, they just go around it.

    So by being addicted you gain control over when you are alert or in a good mood. Those not using caffeine, nicotine or cocaine to control their moods just have to hope they are in the mood for a 48 hour programming session when they need it.
