and that's OP's point - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to create an image for kubuntu. It even comes with a freaking image builder for OEMs for gods sakes...
There's another piece everyone forgets. Foreign students *HAVE TO HAVE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE BY LAW* so the companies would not have to do anything on that front for them.
OPs point is that that you can hobble, but that it plays it properly - ie, without dropped frames, etc.
If we allow "not exactly great" - ie, with dropped frames and lowered quality, then where are we going to stop? 1 frame/second? Is that your "good enough" threshold? What's mine?
Hahahaha, I have a skill, I can piss off both redcrap and microsloth idiot moderators here. Can't believe I got modded down by at least 4 people.
Silly bastards, it's just a story, just milding critical of microslop. And I used to know the guy (regular in a newsgroup I was regular in), so it wasn't as if this is foaf, this story's from the guy who claimed to have done it.
I once heard of a guy (Unix admin) who took a mcse 4 exam cold (old tale, obviously). No prep course, no prep test, nothing. For every question, he looked at the answers, and asked himself one question - which answer will make Microsoft the most money? Used that as the answer.
Not all change is good. While some mutants finally caused single celled organisms to become humans, untold number of mutations killed the immediate offsprings.
Yup. Helping slaves escape used to be against the law too. All those people should have went to jail and have the full weight of the law thrown against them as well.
FWIW, I used to think that way too - you break the law, pay the price, and work to fix the law. Then, started thinking about people who just want to sit down at the front of the bus... or drink from a water fountain...
In all likelihood, if there are MacOS drivers there are Linux drivers.
In general, maybe, but if we are talking about the specific case of a product designed specifically for Apple, then probably not, starting out.
You might even manage to get more out of the Linux drivers due to the OS being less likely to get in the way.
And how does MacOS get in the way of its device drivers?
The "software" side of things with MacOS might be better, or not.
You might be an idiot, or not. What's your point?
As we've recently seen, some Apple users don't mind cutting corners.
And as I've seen over the years, there are morons in software camps. What's your point?
"Apple is better" is an article of faith that isn't necessarily true.
And it isn't necessarily untrue either. So what's your point again?
If there is a tablet machine in the Apple Store that means it's something you can go look at, pick up, listen to, pay cash for and then return if it doesn't work out for whatever reason.
And I wonder how well the embedded bios piece works when I'm running linux or openbsd.
Also, if the thief is capable of re-installing windows, the thief is almost certainly capable of mucking in the bios, and, well, you know, turn the trace thing off...
If you pay me shitloads of $$, I'd say that all day long too. I'm quite sure whatever Microsoft is paying Asus is > $$ spent on developing/porting linux for the EE
Apparently they only conduct raids and investigations against small to midsize companies. Won't even investigate any large companies.
It's called being an apologist

Man, if I didn't work in the computer field, that whole line looks a bit kinky...

Modification implies a hardware change. Using lights individually is simply a new way to use something. Does not imply a hardware change.
Of course not. The guy's a fool, we should all be buying $15k computers to help the economy! :)

Oh god, are people still selling a "stealth cable"???? :)

And just want is this "unique" architecture?

He passed.

Please call it by it's original name, Microsoft Bob

But does it have electrolytes?
????
Repeating a lie doesn't make it any more true.
Then why do you keep doing it?

But the key was - was it submitted by a 15 year old? and without the standard rigorous slashdot review process? :)
What, you didn't pray at her altar enough? :P
Oh, is that what you kids are calling it nowadays? :)
*snort* still fail, compared to a friend I know.
a dancer came over to him: hey, you're in my Intro to C class. do you know what the professor was talking about - I still don't get pointers.
friend: sure, a pointer is
dancer: oh, now I get it. you sure know your stuff
dancer: hey, how about a trade? I'll trade you a lapdance every week for the semester if you tutor me in C?
friend: deal!
And if they sell it, they can use the money to buy a laptop. Nah, better to spend it on booze and art supplies.
