    There's another piece everyone forgets. Foreign students *HAVE TO HAVE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE BY LAW* so the companies would not have to do anything on that front for them.

    OPs point is that that you can hobble, but that it plays it properly - ie, without dropped frames, etc.

    If we allow "not exactly great" - ie, with dropped frames and lowered quality, then where are we going to stop? 1 frame/second? Is that your "good enough" threshold? What's mine?

    I once heard of a guy (Unix admin) who took a mcse 4 exam cold (old tale, obviously). No prep course, no prep test, nothing. For every question, he looked at the answers, and asked himself one question - which answer will make Microsoft the most money? Used that as the answer.

    He passed.

    FWIW, I used to think that way too - you break the law, pay the price, and work to fix the law. Then, started thinking about people who just want to sit down at the front of the bus... or drink from a water fountain...

    Repeating a lie doesn't make it any more true.

    In all likelihood, if there are MacOS drivers there are Linux drivers.

    In general, maybe, but if we are talking about the specific case of a product designed specifically for Apple, then probably not, starting out.

    You might even manage to get more out of the Linux drivers due to the
    OS being less likely to get in the way.

    And how does MacOS get in the way of its device drivers?

    The "software" side of things with MacOS might be better, or not.

    As we've recently seen, some Apple users don't mind cutting corners.

    And as I've seen over the years, there are morons in software camps. What's your point?

    "Apple is better" is an article of faith that isn't necessarily true.

    And it isn't necessarily untrue either. So what's your point again?

    If there is a tablet machine in the Apple Store that means it's something
    you can go look at, pick up, listen to, pay cash for and then return if it
    doesn't work out for whatever reason.
