You know, you can buy an adapter to allow you to use more controller ports for games that support it on the PS2. Just like how you can buy a remote to watch DVDs on an X-Box.
Part of that is Namco's (the publisher of the "Tales Of" series in Japan and, on rare occasions, the States) fault for never really giving the "Tales Of" series a fair shake. Sure, they released Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia, but they've had two opportunites to release the remakes of Tales of Phantasia (on the PS1 and most recently Gameboy Advance), but instead chose to pass on them. If there's one thing the GBA really needs, it's RPGS that most people haven't played a gazillion times before. And considering the game has never had a US release, I can't think of any real reason not to release it. They also passed on the PS2 game Tales of Destiny 2, but that was probably because some idiot at Namco decided renaming Tales of Eternia to Tales of Destiny 2 for the US market was a good plan.
Does Namco really think people don't like buying RPGs unless the game's name contains "Xeno" and can be confused with a release from another major RPG producer?
The N-Gage might well be a great phone/PDA. Unfortunetly, it's being marketed as a gaming system. And you know what? It fails as a gaming system. Tiny screen, crappy buttons, demo units that crash more often than my old Win98 box with serious hardware issues, and an incredible lack of good games.
Meanwhile, my GBA has good controls, a nice, large screen (admittedly a bit dark, but it's not unviewable as many people claim), and a good library of games. And it costs less. Nintendo has the monopoly on portable gaming because the competition stinks, not because they've got industry friends doing them favors.
Because there has been entirely too much of these changes in videogames lately. See this article, or the incident where Hitman 2 was changed for supposedly featuring a negative stereotype about another racial group. This is getting utterly ridiculous.
Why is it okay to have games where the Russians, or the Nazis, or various assorted Middle Eastern types are the villians, but not Canadians or Haitians? Is it okay as long as you're not the same race as the villians? Is it acceptable as long as you're killing what is percieved to be an "evil" people?
Rockstar should have stood up for themselves and told these groups where they can stick it. They don't need to be giving in to these groups and setting dangerous precidents. Oh, well. Too late now.
I'm pretty sure you can change the range of ports used by BitTorrent, anyway. So you'd just have a lot of people changing their settings every few weeks/months until every port except port 80 is blocked.
I prefer the roughly-yearly installments that actually have notable changes, for better or worse, to Capcom's "do a 'new' installment with a few tweaks every year or two" method. Not that I don't love SF3, but come on. Capcom also hasn't done an honestly new Street Fighter game in ages. All we've got is SF characters appearing in a number of other games.
Oh, and storyline changes - The King of Fighters series has always had a hell of a lot more story in the SF games - and more importantly, more of it IN GAME. SNK also didn't feel the need to go back and change story elements to fit their whims. (Cammy becoming a clone, anyone?)
EB now offers a 10% off used games/crappy magazine subscription deal. GMR is a somewhat better magazine than Game Informer, but the cost/savings are just about identical, so pick which card to get based on what store you visit most/is most common in your area.
Knowing Sega, they've bought the rights to an existing emulator. The Sega Smash Pack CDs for PC were modified versions of the KGen emulator. I've also heard that Sega has bought the rights to one of the more finished Sega Saturn emulators out there, although it's still terribly slow.
...you have to pay the per-song fee every time you burn with Real's service, right? That easily loses to Apple's service, where once you pay for the track, you can burn it pretty much as often as you like; I think the only limitation for iTunes was that you could only burn a single playlist with music from the store up to ten times. And really, why would you need to make more than ten copies of most CDs?
I believe Microsoft was also concerned that gamers with chipped systems would start using hacked versions of online games to cheat (see Diablo 2, Everquest, or hell, just about any PC online game ever). That was (at least once) the official line on why they didn't allow chipped systems to be used on X-Box Live. Can't say I blame them, really; I wouldn't want to have a gaming session ruined because c00ldude7189 decided he wanted to be invincible and have a +99 Sword of Hurting or that sort of thing.
I disagree. Anything could be considered off topic by someone. Just look at any anime topic.:P
If you really don't believe a certain topic belongs... there IS something called "preferences," and using said "preferences," you can disable topics you don't want to read about.
Under that logic, using a player with skip-prevention ram is illegal. Makes me proud to be American.:P
Moving to Canada looks better and better every day...
I'm embarressed by all the geeks out there who open the topic and post something insulting the people who like said topic. It's stupid. If you don't like it, DON'T READ IT AND TURN IT OFF IN PREFS. That's all there is to it.
Good lord, it scares me that so many people think anime is simply porn. IT'S NOT. Ever seen Pokemon? May not be necessarily wonderful, but it's not porn. Ever watched Kiki's Delivery Service/Totoro? Not porn, not ultraviolent: in fact, they're wholesome family films. Anime ISN'T JUST PORN, folks! I find it terrible that so many people believe that it is.
If you wanted to say that, why don't I just go say I think every single American live action show is an utter piece of pornographic crap? Over generalization? You bet. Does that make any sense? No. Is it fair to think the same of anime? No.
And for the last time, if you don't anime articles, DISABLE THEM IN PREFERENCES!

Too bad it's also a crappy phone and you'll likely have to pay through the roof to browse the web on it's tiny screen.
They hyped it plenty, it just isn't a good product.

Apple's service wins, hands down.

Don't get me started on the mainstream view of anime. It won't be pretty.
Seriously, if you think anime is all porn, you've only watched hentai videos.
