Hmm, I just finished this story in PCWorld during my after Christmas boweling.
It's probably best to combine a few of these to get some really cool techo ideas. For example:
Cross Peer-to-peer networking with Tireless wireless: 802.11 networks. Now every you're at that Nascar BBQ, you could be getting the latest Tim and Willy CD.
Or
Guided by voices: Voice portals combined with May we see some ID, please: The electronic wallet, so retailers have to yell at my butt to get my money.
Basically the story was about a hacker Wizard(not lotr type) who could root your system whenever you went online, and you wouldn't be aware of it. This guy would then use info from your computer to kill you.
Now I here XP can give up System control simply by having you go online!
This only affect international disputes, say those in Canada.
To quote: "federal courts have jurisdiction over international domain name disputes".
This still won't take all the power away from WIPO and ICANN that it needs, but it's a step towards better arbitration. Domain names are not trademarks!

Electronic Paper
·
· Score: 2, Interesting
Can you imagine rolling up a 61" projector screen from COM to COM, it only weighing three pounds and using a nickel of energy? That's what this "paper" can do.
You can have windowless cars that are completely safe because the inside can be plastered with Closed Circuit pictures of what's outside. Heck, imagine walking to your door and being able to look at whose standing there, without them being able to look in, because your door has a sheet of this paper on it.
Of course, take it a step further. You can folder this paper, imagine now that you mold it to someone's face, where it as a mask, and used a computer controlled face to impersonate someone.
eResolution v. eResolution.com
There is nothing in the spirit or substance
of American law that could ever justify the expropriation
of one person's rightful property in order to transfer
ownership to some other person, based on the argument
that the original owner had not yet "done anything" with his
property other than simply holding it, whereas the other person
has intentions and/or plans to put that property to some
commercial use.
You should, they have a pretty good template to start from here

The infrastructure will still be there, it's just a matter of forcing Excite to give up access to it so that the cable companies can run they're own ISP off the lines. I've never written to my Senator before today (and there sure are better things for me to write about), but these kind of bad business decisions irritate me.
They had a great product, but decided to add all this extra crap that no one uses (has anyone been to Excite.com or home.net before the Chpt 11 filing was annouced?)
Even so, I know I set my VCR to record it every week. Heck, I had MLB world series recorded. Whether I'm stuck in the library or out celebrating finishing the term paper with my good friend Jack D. I'll be sure to catch the episode one way or another.
I had to work tonight and wasn't able to catch the Family Guy, but you'd be damn sure to find me watching it as soon as I get off work. Heck, I don't even have a Tivo.

Umm, yes
Although, I will say being able to run Doom on anything simply rules. It's one of my favorite games of all time. I remember typing in the code for my TI-85 (cuz I broke my uplink when I dropped it) and playing it in Math class. I wish those things had IR ports for LAN parties. I wonder if someone would be able to somehow port it into a Lego Mindstorms hack?

It reads at 46057 right now.

You're thinking of the G4
Shoot, there is still not support for MSN's "Secure Password authentication". One day, one day.
Just an FYI, BOFH/BFH stands for Bastard Operator from Hell and PFY stands for Pimply Faced Youth.
The last line is priceless "'Merry Christmas to all and the drinks are on us!!'"
Other than Troll Tuesday, it's my favorite web-based holiday theme.
This new squid looks like a half-breed Manta Ray/Squid.
I couldn't get enough of Discovery Channel's Search for the a Giant Squid
No.

Of course, that may be a very long wait, but the compression would rule!

Does this still body suit need to be fused with a new form of fusion?
Cox in Phoenix still good.
PS. What happens in Phoenix when you don't pay your cable bill....you get your Cox cut off!

I'll just rename all my opengl.dll to opengl2.quake and everything will seem to run faster.
