  1. Everquest has done this on Star Wars Galaxies Only to Allow One Character Per Account · · Score: 1

Everquest has so or so standard servers on each of which you can have 8 characters per account. However there is one server, launched a little over a year ago with a special ruleset. Firiona Vie is the roleplaying prefered server, and part of the ruleset is a one character limit.

Firiona Vie was my server since I started eq in January. I've just recently quit and canceled my FIVE accounts. Having been a hardcore player I wasn't satisfied by one character, and playing on any other server just wasn't an option to me since all my friends and efforts were local to Firiona Vie.

There is a huge potential for the same behavior by hardcore players of the new game. Believe me the game creators know this and I'm sure it's a factor in their decision.

  4. It's their intentions that make it wrong on ATI Drivers Geared For Quake 3? · · Score: 1

This isn't a case of ATI working extra hard to improve the experience of their customers. Anyone in the hardware scene knows that Quake3 is the number one benchmark for comparing video cards. Not meaning it is the best, just the most commonly used.

It seems to me that ATI deliberately tweaked their drivers to make their FPS score on a Quake3 benchmark higher. It seems obvious that they did this so that their card could compete in the hundreds of Reviews matching the Radeon 8500 with the GeForce3 family of cards.

  5. Seems like there is a simpler solution on New Cube controller · · Score: 1

As far as PSO is concerned (or even other games), why not just release a new version of the game that allows you to use a mouse in combintation with the keyboard? I've played a bit of PSO, and it annoyed me to no end that you couldn't map keys on the keyboard to act as buttons on the controller. There is already a Dreamcast mouse (There is a Dreamcast version of Quake3 and Unreal Tournament.)

Seems to make more sense than producing that monstrosity of a controller.

Personally, I think online RPG's like PSO work much better on the PC. But for those who can't afford a high end PC and a broadband connection, it's a fun alternative.

Yes, that means that if I wanted to, I could check any of her email accounts. Do I? ... Nope. I doubt she checks mine either. We trust each other.

If you are in a point in a relationship where you feel the need to spy on your signifigant other, then it's probably a sign of deeper problems.

I seriously doubt a system in which devices permanently fry themselves as soon as there is a lapse in the GPS signal are what they intend to implement.

You can make whatever predictions you'd like, if you are a well respected expert people may even listen to you. The fact is that the "next big thing" often is NOT. All new inventions hit snags. While I am sure there is a demand for a $15 laptop, even if it is quite a bit slower by todays standards, they are likely to cost much more at first. If the don't catch on quickly, they aren't going to get cheaper, and this company is likely to go out of buisness. After which other companies will be unlikely to embrace the new technology. Although I would like to see an idea like this succeed, I'll beleive it when I see it.
