Why would this require using a mouse to click on two icons placed next to each other when that takes time itself?
Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to map the input to two keys on a keyboard?
I have to wonder about the validity of any kind of intelligence test that lacks common sense like that. Well, that and has the spelling mistakes that others noted.
Buying a whole new computer instead of buying just Windows, and in the case of a laptop, having to carry two computers around if you prefer Mac OS, but have to occasionally use a certain Windows app?
Not many people will be buying Macs to run just Windows, but for Mac users who don't want to also buy a PC, this is pretty damn useful. How do you not get that?
"why someone would want to work in Windows when they could be working in OSX"
Off the top of my head... AutoCAD.
I'm sure that most Mac users that use their computer for something more than just email and web stuff could point you to an app that they'd like to run but can't on their Macs (I know. I've been a Mac user for 15 years). Their choice comes down to buying another computer, running it in VPC with all of the problems that entails, or now installing Windows natively. Which would you choose?
Oh wait, you were probably just trolling like the dozen other people that asked why under this story today.
From your blog: "Note: Large images are in PNG format, older versions of IE may have difficulty displaying them"
That's a bit smug, don't you think? After all, older versions of MOST browsers may have difficulty displaying PNG images, and the ones you posted don't use transparency, which is IE's main problem.

Just wait until people start selling X-Ray Specs again as wallhacks.
Just recently, an art teacher was suspended and may be fired for *recommending* to his *high school* students that they *consider* attending life drawing classes outside of school.
So what would happen to an art-related site that has nudity, either in the form of art or reference for art? Should it be forced to use.xxx? I bet some people woud think so, but many of us would object.
"How do you know? Is it impossible to believe that the US government might want a safety net for modern weapons that deactivates them if they don't receive a signal targeted to the plane's serial number every hour while in flight, with said signal broadcast by satellites with worldwide coverage....GPS perhaps?"
You have a point, but doing it like that would be kind of silly. All the enemy would have to do is find a way to jam that signal, and the planes would fall from the sky.
Of course, if it were done the opposite way and a deactivation signal could be sent to the planes, it could be forged and used against them as well or could be blocked.
But I guess these are good reasons to keep a system like this secret if it exists.
ImageMagick is great, but if you work with less common formats or even those such as Maya's IFF, it doesn't help much (which is odd seeing as how Maya even installs ImageMagick's convert command renamed as imconvert).
There is another program called Nconvert that will handle pretty much any format you throw at it (about 400 in and 40 out). It can do much of what can be done with ImageMagick too, and is available for more than a dozen operating systems.
Unfortunately it's only free for non-commercial use, and 100 (or an agreement) otherwise.
"There is empirical evidence for evolution, and a bunch of people who refuse to believe it."
Nobody goes to hell for not believing in evolution.
They are just covering their bases.

Or maybe I'm just upset that I got a 49.
"Running things inside a Zip directly is as bad as compressing the hard drive for more space."
Compressing the drive, or at least certain folders, actually works pretty well. What problem do you have with it?
And don't say performance, because that will tell me you haven't actually tried it.
With DRM?
"Well, given how quickly every protection scheme that has come down the pike so far has been cracked, I'd have to say ... not much."
The latest Windows Media Player 9 DRM has been out for a while and not been cracked.
"It will be in a hard to use format"
The article says they will give you a copy for use with portables.
"Security measures will make it impossible to e-mail the film to somebody else."
What else will they prevent us from doing?
The only reason the ROM sites are around is because nobody is still selling most of the games that they offer.
Whether they play on then new systems is irrelevant. If you can play them on your PC, they will assume that they are losing possible sales.
Would you be using it ONLY for non-commercial stuff?
If not, then you might as well download/steal it, because why pay someone when you don't get a valid license to use it either way?
Why?
Microsoft doesn't make computers. They sell Windows.
They have nothing to lose on this.
"I've always felt the photoshop tests were an absurd measure of a computer's speed."
It's a lot harder to benchmark "real world" use.
And that would somehow make more sense?

Funny.
You're not even the first to ask this TODAY.
I guess the same could then be said for running Linux on a Mac, right?
Heck, what about Linux on a PC? Oh wait. That one was about CHOICE, right?
"Why not track the story of how Leah became a key player in the Alliance."
To me that's sounds like a great idea... until I remember that she was pretty much a stuck up brat until Empire Strikes Back.

There was no porting involved here.
Both cases involved getting an Intel OS running on Intel hardware.

I don't play many racing games, but I recently picked up Need For Speed Most Wanted, and was surprised to see Burger King restaurants in the game.
Sure, in a game like GTA, I expect restaurants with sily names or something, but in this case, I think it's actually pretty cool.

IBM had a working Linux watch years ago, and plenty of people saw it working, but it still became vaporware.
