No. This is Microsoft and they need to on every new field as soon as possible once they recognize such a field in order to crush the competition before it becomes to successfull (Google).
As someone who has both high bloodpressure and hear attacks that keep killing family males at a young age (correctable with surgery) running in the family, I'm fairly certain that I will too have the same problems at some point in life (high bloodpressure already). Granted, both of these can be treated unlike any terminal disease, but 10-15 years ago open heart surgery was not a piece of cake even though the success rate is higher now but still it is something that has always been in the back of my head and I've learned to live with it. At some point I just decided that I'm going to live life as I would as any other normal person until such a time that I either drop dead someday or until I die of old age.
Medicine as a science is evolving sometimes fast, sometimes slow and perhaps there is someday a treatment for terminal disease x or y that we do not have today.
Thats why I bring my laptop with me and do work, mostly ignoring the discussion, nod a few times, say "Mmm-huh" and then 10 minutes before the end actually listen to the conclusion and ask who the hell came up with a plan like this.
A finnish company, upcode (www.upcode.fi) does this with a less hidden picture, in newspapers etc. You take a picture with your camera phone, the upcode software recognizes the code on the page and the code is sent to a server and a message (be it stock quotes or bus schedule info) is sent back.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: a blurred image on the map will tell everyone that there is something interesting there, be it some big bad uu aa terrorist or some other intelligence gathering agency.
I bought my first calculator when in junior high equivalent. Since it was in the late 80's no fancy stuff. Did well into high school. Also well through all the university math courses (they did not allow calculators with memory or a graphical display). Sure you need one?
On a serious note. While I don't care all that much if google uses an automated method to push advertising on me, I am more bothered by the fact that it's a single target that retains tons of information. A hacker can break into one person's home computer and get their info, or they can break into a google server and have 2 million people. Same reason that hackers target windows/ie over linux/firefox, they can accomplish/demolish a larger audience.
So which one are you going to trust. Microsoft or Google?
Well, I speak swedish and finnish (and english and a bit of german) so I guess I when I'm old (if I live that long) I wont be too far out there somewhere in my happy little place...

Because clearly the intelligent design says so and if intelligent design says so then it must be so.
What's so special about Google's database?
Google.
Would it be Nucular or Nuclear? If it's the first, then I'm not worried.
Funny that Novell is fending off someone funded by the same fellow that they are in bed with :)
Put it on the p2p networks and it will be available forever :)
Yeah, a co-worker of mine keeps a "museum" of old hardware, that is, he likes to collect crap and keep it around instead of throwing it away :)
Why only threathen? Why not send them directly to prison without passing Go and colleting 200...
They havent figured out how to buy 25+ memberstates at once yet
I listen to (according to my knowledge) royalty free music from hardhouse.co.uk :)

Well, the sectoids have to live somewhere don't they?
Instead of using RIAA start calling it the record labels. Now they're just pushing the bad pr over to an organisation that has nothing to lose.
And if they have to pay they'll just give out vouchers to Alcatel-Lucent for Vista licenses :)

Actually you only need to tell IBM that someone is messing with their investment...
