Well... lets come full circle, shall we? What happend the last time the people of north america felt like they were being oppressed by their government? Simple. They got their guns and took it out. That's what the 2nd amendment is for, remember?
The 2nd amendment is why we now now have "Homeland Security" and the "Patriot Act", 9/11 was just the smokescreen needed to sneak it in.
I'm sure if you'd have asked the Brit's back in 1776 they would have considered the Patriots to be terrorists.
It's funny how the side you're on is the "Patriots" and the other side is always the "Terrorists".
And if you read further, you'd have read that the ENERGY that is causing those cute little wind blades to turn is being generated by the cars pushing the air in front of them.
Now - you add resistance to that air (the little wind blades) and guess what?
The cars now have to work harder to push the air and as a result - get lower fuel economy.
Genovese faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000
Something is wrong here yesterday a Judge in Ohio sentenced someone to 5 years in prison after he was convicted of killing two twins while driving drunk.
And this guy gets 10 years(max)?
So - sourcecode is worth more than someone's life?
It was great because it was graphic-oriented when its competitors, like CompuServe or GEnie, were text-based.
Trust me, when you are paying by the minute like I was on CIS, GEnie and Delphi, you WANTED the snappy response of a text based service, vs waiting for the screen to redraw with pretty graphics.
For example the state of Texas gave all Electoral votes to Bush, however Kerry had 30% or so of the popular vote and should have recieved 30% or so of the Electoral votes from Texas. In this election Bush would have won under these rules because of the 3 million+ popular votes he lead Kerry by
Colorado actually had an issue on the ballot that would have done just this - divide up the electoral votes as per the percentage of the popular votes - no more winner take all. From what I read, the republicans violently opposed this.
(it was soundly defeated btw)
This issue - had it passed - would have gone into effect for this election.
Of course - this issue and similar ones like it - would basically have nullified the EC.
Of course it is possible there were more "riders" on this issue than was mentioned in the CNN article I read...
One would assume by this comment that you are referring to the percentage of popular votes - since it would be ludicrous to compare the number of votes he received yesterday to the number of votes someone received 100 years ago, when the population was a lot smaller.
Homosexuality is treated as the norm, when in reality, it should be classified as a mental disorder. When someone behaves in a way that obviously isn't natural, one would think that there is something wrong with that person. For some reason we go the other way on homosexuality. While gays need tolerance, they also need help to get past their disorder.
I'm a devout Atheist and proud of it.
Do I also need help to get passed this disorder - since it "obviously isn't natural"?
Ok, what I want to know is - can you still see the square outline around the ships (X-Wings and T.I.E. fighters) in the final battle around the Deathstar in IV? It was very visible in the VHS versions.
I think THIS is the scariest plank of all: # p.8, Christian Nation: "The Republican Party of Texas affirms the United States of America is a Christian Nation..."
Forget about the Patriot Act - think about what sort of havoc something entitled "The Christian Act" could wreak.
Just further proof that religion has no place in poltics. As if the dark ages wasn't proof enough.
Me wonders if he even knows what witchcraft was and really still is all about....
It certainly has not died out... Contrary to what certain religious sects might have you believe...
From the article:
Q: What makes you believe Linux will continue to gain momentum? A: I think, fundamentally, open source does tend to be more stable software. It's the right way to do things. I compare it to science vs. witchcraft. In science, the whole system builds on people looking at other people's results and building on top of them. In witchcraft, somebody had a small secret and guarded it -- but never allowed others to really understand it and build on it.
Traditional software is like witchcraft. In history, witchcraft just died out. The same will happen in software. When problems get serious enough, you can't have one person or one company guarding their secrets. You have to have everybody share in knowledge.
How about cancer? X-Rays are carcenogenic!
This is my concern exactly. There is a REASON why the X-Ray techs in hospitals step out of the room when they X-Ray a patient.
Of course knowing how much congress critters like to fly - maybe there is slight silver lining after all...

T.V. spinoffs are never as good as the movie.
In the case of StarGate - I'd have to stay the T.V. spinoff is BETTER than the movie.
Of course for every StarGate and Buffy, you have your "Uncle Buck", "Gung Ho" and probably lots of others I can't recall.
The problem is - when you take a story that has come to an end like "Gung Ho" and try to milk it - there is no material left - so you get dreck.
Who cares? I wanna know who'd play Finnegan!
:-)
So we could see him beat up Kirk daily
KQ IV is what actually got my wife interested in computer games way back when.
The fact that the protagonist was female was very important to her.
And don't forget - that before Lara Croft, there was Laura Bow!
As did I, I'm hoping someone makes some levels exclusively for the airboat - preferably with lots of ramps :-)
Nice troll - but you're making it kinda obvious!
Great Idea!
Driving a car requires a license, and we know that keeps all of the clueless people off of the streets!

No free lunch there either.

And this is different from when my parents told me the same thing 15 years ago how?
So you listened to music 15 years ago with the "Parental Advisory" stickers on them?
It seems half the CDs listed in the latest Best Buy flyer are plastered with those things.

Remember, if you can't refute someone's facts then you can always throw as much mud at them as you can find until people start forgetting the truth
Unfortunately - this is proven time and time again come elections....
I'll take existence over cool tech any day.
I'll take cool tech over mythology any day.
Hmmm - if I had mod points, I'd have modded this as "insightful".
Sad, true, but definitely not funny.
Most users ARE idiots. It seems completely appropriate that they should be treated this way. I very much mean this.
Hmmm - I think it would be more accurate to say:
Most users ARE ignorant.
There is a difference.
It is a shame that Windows does not attempt to educate - but merely stoops to their current comprehension level.

Perfect example of the true American way - thinking only of yourself and ignoring the people in line behind you.
I hope you are in line behind someone like yourself someday.

Yes! Remember this is the same large group of people responsible for shows like "American 'Idle'" becoming ratings hits....
There's a very good chance - providing they have seen our television shows.
