well one, check out ftp.gmd.de/if-archive/games/zcode for infocom engined games, playable on any platform (even gameboy!) a lot of these are a lot better than infocom's best efforts (maybe except trinity) and check out news://rec.arts.int-fiction and rec.games.int-fiction and www.textfire.com for awesome stuff as well.
Lou has a page somewhere on how to extract the z5 file from an apple rom image of infocom games, so get thee to asimov's rom site!!
So, now that your going to be a zillionare, are you going to take up your old past time of having your house burned down? You can afford it now. My friend Black Metal Neil will do it for you.
You got to wonder if he called them or vice versa? With SUSE being in Europe, I wonder if they ever tried to recruit him. Off course, they are in Germany and it seems he's a bit attached to his island. Wow. Just thought: Wouldn't it be nifty to get paid to keep a diary?
I should be employed to find odd quickies....

but, this is the Supreme Court, so Microshaft can't appeal right? Who'd they appeal too? If some shocking evidance was found ("Win98 is based on the MacOS, so apple has the monopolly!") could they appeal?
I'm a vermont town of 15k people (going to bennington college) and the local news shop carries Linux MAgazine (though no linux journal in site) So odd.
Still looking forward to maximumlinux. http://www.maximumlinux.com/
Ancient Domains of Mystery is defintly the best roguelike ever. The plot, gimmicks and programming are so imaginative. A dungeon with a frictionless surface? Fluff balls, when watered, mutate into gremlins?! Amazing. And, of course, it runs on linux.
Speaking of that, trying to navigate/. and happypenguin on lynx is no fun at all. Freshmeat is pretty good. Anyone remember the good ole days when people offered a low bandwidth text page? sigh.
on the other hand, when i went to some random page which used frames on lynx i got quite a funny message; instead of "use a a better browser" it said "hello inferior komputa." teehe
http://www.rosalitaassociates.com/ just published acts of the apostles and its prety damn cool and they got the first third of the book up. Anyone into techno cyber conspiracy thriller stuff should take a gander.
I've emailed the author (he also owns the publishing company, which from the looks of things was made just for this one book)and he used to work at SUN and knows stuff about linux. hehe small world?
3-4 years ago, I sent you a nice little t-file, fiction, called Stuffs, about a girl and her magical flying snack trays, and you said it would be released. Alas, you never did, though on follow up emails, you said the next release. Why? When?
p.s. anyone interested in some cDc reviews of t-files, check out www.etext.org/pub/Zines/BeyondLost (the url may be a bit differant, case sensitive and all)
and ill get something put in there someday, as long as it's not running windoze.
Or maybe a nice little fishtank with a robotic fish swimming around. cute. 2nd post? ble

Did you ever play any of the old infocom or level 9 IF games? Have you seen the annual interactive fiction contest? One had a lisp machine built into it (possible AI in the future?) another called Photopia by Adam Cadre (www.adamcadre.ac) used colors as a medium and made an amazing piece of, dare i say it, literature. One section, Purple, was supposidly based on the fact you *may have* cut out the part of The Diamond Age were Purple discusses sex/puberty. Defintly worth checking out, if your interested, which the Diamond Age makes it seem so. more and more puzzleless IF is appearing, striving to strum emotion instead of puzzles.
Misc. questions: Cryptnet has 33 nodes, are they Masons? Are the Drummers a beowulf cluster, or is it just me? Not a question, but the morse code LED in Crypt. was beyond awesome. On the back cover of said book... where did you get those PANTS? and what's your t-shirt say?
in the Diamond Age, Cryptnet was suposed to go up to 33 degrees. Was cryptnet an allusion to the Masons? Their overall plan was vague but slightly gnostic. And the drummers, just me, or did anyone else think Beowulf Cluster??

I loved The Diamond Age, prolly because I like interactive fiction and it did it so well. The idea of phyles was also excellent, and the nanotechnology was cool, but some of the body-mods were just stupid. Skull-guns? Rumour has it Stephenson cut some of Purple's chapters dealing with sexuality... Adam Cadre who made the wonder piece of IF, Photopia, made a purple scene because of that cut. BTW, Adam just released a new game, and it's a doozie. But in the end, the ending was way to rushed and unexplained though I loved the Mouse Army, and the drummers, omigod, what a Beowulf cluster!
