Plextor has released the firmware for linux. The have iso upgrades now making them OS agnostic. It's listed under the "non-windows" section of firmware. Just a heads up since the story about will help you as much as a frontal lobotomy.
"The fact that Microsoft and Novell have agreed to work together has changed nothing for us. In fact, Red Hat have hired the remaining members of the Samba from Novell."
I could have sworn Novell said their Samba folks were happy. I wonder how many left?
There are convicted monopolists. And I'm having fun reading the "reasonable" comment in pidgeon english. Very impressive goobacks. Which is only part of the problem with H1B's. If Microsoft wants more people from foreign countries it is their absolute right to leave the protection of America and stake their future on India or Asscrack China. You don't get to have your cake and fuck it too. Not even in this country.
I second that. When you violate natural law, you die. Governments that are totalitarian disarm their citizens. No healthy form of government can disarm the people that created it, and hope to be kept in check.
And as an American, I know what you mean about the European mind. I lived there as well. They think of us as brash bully jackasses that shoot everyone in sight. That American citizens are violent kill zones. They forget that our cities have 2-10 million people, and if one person dies it makes the news.
They are right, though. You slap my grandmother or my kid on the street, and I will kill you and your friends. Sandniggers, mudslime niggers, or mudslime chinks. You will all die, and I'll enjoy doing it.
Roving bands of muslims in Omaha... haha. That would be something to film. They'd make great fertilizer. The worst problem we have are illegal mexicans and their women. If looks could kill they would be the electric chair. But that's another matter that you just can't help. Other than that, they're the nicest criminals you'll ever meet. But if they weren't- we you be seeing non-entities splattered along the sidewalk by grandma packing a.45.
60 years ago, before most of you were an itch in Daddy's pants, there were schools. How did they get there? Was it magic? No, schools have existed off the tax rolls since before Rome.
At these schools parents paid teachers directly. And because of that direct payment, when their children goofed off, the parents beat the living hell out of them. Because they were losing money- directly. These were our great grandparents and perhaps grandparents. There was no federal money. It was local. And people cared because they were personally invested in the organization- but moreso their own kid and wallet.
Since the US Department of Education has told schools what they can and cannot do with funding, we have been failing miserably. This isn't a blame the government rant. It's statically true. Never has America sucked as much as when the USDE was created. America was the most educated populous on the planet 50 years ago, before the USDE got ahold of your children. Now we are trailing 20th on a good day. And it ain't a good day.
Now back to modern times. If you have any respect for yourself, would you work at a job that paid little and where you had no control or respect from anyone? Would you? That's government at work. Get it out of our schools. Have the community invest in education directly. They can barely pave roads for pete's sake.
And what of all the poor people? They need to learn too? You mean like President Abraham Lincoln? Yea, he didn't have a pot to piss in, and he changed the course of history. Money does not make you learn. Say this with me. MONEY DOES NOT MAKE YOU LEARN. Responsibility and Vested Interest make you learn.
Why aren't you a stardust analyzing physicist? Why aren't you a rug maker? Why aren't you a Llama farmer? Because you don't give a shit about it. If you put 500 dollars into Llama farming, you would give a shit. That's natural law. And taxing everyone and sending it into the ether does not motivate parents, children, or teachers.
Nor does it give them vested authority as shareholders in their childrens future. People have more rights over a publicly traded company than they do their own children. I'm not grasping at straws or trying to shock you- it's the truth. If the shareholders decide to fire the CEO, burn down the west wing, and kick the janitors back over the border to make taco's- they can and do it. But, not to their own schools or children.
Parents need to provide for and have control over their childrens future. Teachers, entrusted with their children, need that same authority to be given them. And Teachers, as independent contractors, need to have the right to tell the parent and kid to get the Fuck Out and don't come back. Some children don't want to or can't learn. Toss them out the window. They will value education when you see them a year later. Because education will have value. As it is now- it's the pussy that any degenerate belt buckle swinging murderous retard can get- so it is worthless.
We don't respect teachers because they have no authority. While respect is sometimes earned, authority is immediate and permanent.
Thomas Jefferson started the University of Virginia, in a little hovel called Charlottesville, Va. It has just very recently(30 years) become a State University aka fed/state funded "public" school. It's been private aka a "school" since the 1790's. This decline across the board in publicly funded holes is not a mystery.
You have no control over what happens to Teachers or Children in a Public School. Giving more money to that vacuum will not give you any more control than you already have. Because 0 times 50 Billion is still 0. No, really.. it is. I went to "private" school.
Peace to all the Parents and Teachers out there that want the best for our children. If you could change it- it would have been changed already. Get out start your own school. This message brought to you by your local, state, and federally unfunded Libertarian.
Mr. Jefferson actually said governments should be overthrown- not the Constitution that they were founded on. You have to start clean or pretty soon all you have is a document that takes the fire out of the fireplace and puts it in your lap. Law is there to control the government, not control the People. Read up on American history. Or any history for that matter. America is founded on this, and are successful because of it.
When Harvard Business school and equivalent schools such as Darden Business School teach their aspiring asskissers and number jugglers that engineers are morons- You get an understanding of why so many businesses fail by non-engineers, and why IT people are sick of being treated like janitors when they are- in fact- the core value of the business.
Once MBA's grasp the same clue ass grandma when she can't connect to Al Gore's IntarWeb, then perhaps IT will be treated with the respect that it deserves. People that are the most learned are called Doctors. They simply understand more than most and control that information. At least, they used to. Now it's IT's world, and everyone else is in the back seat.
That awareness has not yet sunken into the public. Even though Bill Gates could buy half the Planet, they still don't get it. And honestly, fuck them. If they want customer oriented care 24/7 from IT, then pay them like a MD or JD. Otherwise, go fuck yourself.
You are right. Completely. The EV1 beats both of these new prototypes in performance- but why? I have no idea what these companies are thinking. It's like they want to waste money on stuff they know does not work. Buy, beg, steal, and extort to make the best electric car you can Detroit. The market you are leaving open to foreign companies will devestate you unchecked.
Just build the damn EV1! It worked! It didn't break! You want to sell a car or get bitch-slapped by the next Japanese all electric car? I don't understand these people.
The areas with the most polution and cars are in large cities. The distances traveled daily average 40 miles per. Most people need 2 seats and a place for groceries and a cup holder. Using Hydrogen is fine- but you still need electric current to create it. Stop messing around and just build the damn thing so I can buy a car that doesn't rely oil from people trying to kill me. We can mess around with making hydrogen from 2 paper clips and salt water later. We have electricity now.
The auto industry must become unhinged from the oil companies before we are all put back in the stone age. We are running out of time for you to see 3 feet in front of you.
Didn't the EV1 get 100 miles per charge on old batteries? I would think that the newer redesigned batteries- now owned by Chevron(Stan Ovshinsky->GM->Texaco->Chevron)- would be able to raise the bar. The battery is called the Ovitron(http://www.ovonic.com/). It would be nice for the car companies to realize that they sell cars and not oil/gas. But GM's Andrw Card screwed themselves out of the patents that would have ensured that GM ruled the electic car market. Nice shot man. Build Hummer's instead. They are interdependent now(auto and gas), but the car companies have the advantage. They just don't know it yet. High efficiency solar panels on the roof. Recharge at braking.
Problem- No gas sales to consumers No oil changes and service via car dealerships
Solution- Replace all gas cars with electric(enables a new market to form) No noise pollution No gas pollution Centralized gas combustion and emmission controls- by the power plants rather than 50 million cars.
Gas will still be sold and cars will still be sold. Both companies will do well in either event.
They had better figure this out before the cost of a gas auto 20 years of your life gone. It's 2007. How many people thought we would still be at the gas horse and buggy stage in human history? It makes one wonder whether humans really want to survive or not.
I am a bit confused about the iimplication. The black hat's.. well, they weren't called that in the beginning. I don't remember anyone but old people talking about your moral compass in regards to exploiting security holes. All information is knowable. It's a belief that borders on faith. In my circles, it was just assumed that you would do no harm to the whole. When a surgeon takes out your bulging appendix, he has to do some damage to make sure you survive in the end. That's a proper analogy to the successful "black hat" folks. Even if it meant OOB'ing Microsoft's site for 3 days(winnuke was brought up by a previous poster). A much worse scenario would ensue when a hospital was taken down because they(OS/ipsec company, etc.) ignore their own weakness.
I have to tell you that the people I knew that did those things and worse are running your fortune 500 companies right now. The smartest don't get caught. Mitnick had an ego. These people don't. They are innately good at what they do and there is a higher than likely possibility that a "black hat" has saved your company from disaster more times than anyone else. That's my observation.
There are those that destroy to destroy. They don't survive. It's natural law. Smart people know this. Smart people also know that you don't own information or thought- and everything can be altered. I don't think the connotation of "black hat" describes the best of us accurately. I think they are something different and you will see it when their intuition saves your company time and time again. Where the metal meets the meat, you would rather have a person who's been on the other side rather than some cert collector that's just guessing. Media likes to make their misconception reality because it lends them credence. Black Hat does not mean evil. Hacker does not mean cracker. They are not one and the same.
You jackasses are the core of all music database systems. Just because you don't like each others hair, doesn't mean you put that before the project. Grow up you adolescents.
The Government aka NSA funded Verichip to the tune of 6 Billion dollars. You don't see it on their web page anymore, but it was there large as life when they were founded. That's what first caught my eye with verichip. The sources of its startup capital.
If you're relying on Gnome to form hardware 'parity' with Linux, you'll be waiting a long time. Pop FreeBSD into a machine and have it autodetect everything on any modern 32-bit PC- then you will reach 'parity'. Gnome.. why?
They are commodity now. The nick-nacks they sell are RIO based toys(most profitable). I don't know why anyone would be concerned with how apple grooms it's "leadership". Taken from the book of 'who gives a shit'- please move along. The leadership of apple.. OMG.. haha. You guys kill me. 2% is called an outlier, not a point on a graph.
I agree. I'd pay for this just so I didn't have to watch the commercials. But I would prefer to be able to have an account- like iTunes, and just download whatever the hell I wanted whenever I wanted. Say a monthly subscription or even 1.50 a piece. Why create more physical stuff when it's just data. For the mom and pop folks, a 1.50 dvd would be perfect.
You caught that too I see. He's one of those "I wanna be a manager" types. The puree'd bullshit is seething out of his teeth. Microsoft just paid this whore more. Well, linux's future is secure.
Anyone know how Canaduh responds to the Quo'ran inciting "genocidal violence" on web sites? This hate this or love that limitation on speech is bullshit. If you pussies had any balls, you'd go after people that were about to murder your families. But you won't, because there is an actual threat.
All political bs aside, whether people hate you or not is moot. That is the purpose of free speech- to guarantee rights to "those" people. If we all got along, we wouldn't need a law explaining that right. We would all agree and have nothing to say to each other. There is a difference between inciting hate aka "rallying people to your cause" and plotting the death of a group of people. Remove the emotion from your laws. It serves no one. Either they are plotting to kill you or they are not. But saying that you should die cause I hate you is no grounds for interference.
America doesn't need to have a nation. Let's just remove the citizen rule and "national" security laws and be done with it.
Would Bush be President if he was getting paid in Rupee's?
If Bush wants to be competitive with slavery friendly countries(Got RedDot?), let him lead us by getting paid $4513.76 per year in US wages.
