You actually bring up a good point though. Who does the Database maintenance? In my small shop, if I make a change to a query/table, I need to go back and re-write every stored procedure that is affected. MSSQL does not provide any functionality (to my knowledge) that allows me to search through all SP's in particular DB (DBA is part time). Working in a small shop, I'm still undecided about our use of SPs. I've inherited most of the work, but most of my new development I've only used SP for very complicated queries. I've started abstracting the queries to a Data access layer instead.

Certainly....No problem. This is actually quite a common problem with laptops. They tend not to get enough oxygen, because of their highly energetic oxidation reaction with the new Pentium chips. The oxidation reactions, causes the processor to become coated with a copper residue. This causes the computer to often give out weird messages and slow down. In order to fix it, the daughter needs to get a full cup of Mineral Spirits and quickly pour it through the keyboard. She needs to simultaneously smell the keyboard. The cleaning will commence immediately and smell like ... uhm...burnt toast.

I use Perl regularly for small automated/scripting tasks, and either (GASP) VB or C# for other larger scale projects that require to be well engineered.

You're completely right on target! That's why I sent out an email to friends and family to stop using the program that has the "Blue 'E' logo. I told them that by using that product, some people could steal their banking information. I also mentioned, that the blue e product, has a history of problems, allowing hackers to take their sensitive information (Like the funny citibank commercial).

I then mentioned that, to be more secure, I use a product similar to the blue "e" product, called Firefox. I provided simple instructions to download and install it.

I've found that you need to lower the technical level of the email, so that people can understand the true problem.

It would seem to be a fairly easy case to try for the Man mowing the lawn. It was obvious what the noise disturbance was and it was not against the law. Since there was no crime being committed nor any suspicion of crime, that would be simple police harrassment. Would also be interesting to see what happens when the originator of the complaint gets linked to the Captain.
