Yes it has been in use in Belgium for years by 30 percent of the population but not for 30 percent of the transfers in commerces ! I don't use it as you must PAY a yearly fee to use it. Not that the stores must ALSO pay a (much higher) fee.... PROFIT.
Hey let's go further, let's give his phone number to telemarketers. He is a supposed millionaire, I am sure he would be delighted to receive wonderful business opportunities by phone.
I'm sure some slashdot reader knows someone who can insert him in some databases of people to "telemarket".
Oh wait, why not sell his information. After all, others do it every day otherwise I wouldn't receive those calls for a security for my house.
(Sorry if this post is redundant, I haven't read all the posts)
You don't answer to my first question. You answered : training and responsibilty are necessary. Right, everyone agrees. But my first question was : how the right to carry a gun can protect children from being shot BY CRIMINALS like happened in some schools.
My second question was to point out that even if you carry a gun, anyone who wants to kill you can kill you. A gun protects from robbery or rape, I agree, but killing a robber if he has no weapon is a crime.
I'd like to ask to those who want to protect themselves with guns how the guns they carry could protect children from being shoot and how they would protect themselves from the sniper in Washington.
From a study by the CDC: The study found that gun-related deaths were five to six times higher in the Americas than in Europe or Australia and New Zealand and 95 times higher than in Asia.
So what do you need ?

Furthermore, he (ralsky) hadn't to pay for the ads he received whereas we have to pay each time we download spam (little but it adds up).
Maybe it will be like somewhat as he says. But I sure as hell am not going to have a damn gps signal telling everyone who wants to talk to me exactly where I am. And I'm not gonna be available all the time either. My settings are gonna default to "leave me a god damn email msg and I'll get back to you when I can". Not 'here's my exact location, what I'm doing and 5 ways to page me right now'.:)

This comment reminds me what many people (myself included) were saying at the beginning of the mobile phone era : "What ? A mobile phone ? Never ! I don't want to be bugged. Now the fun thing is that the most spoken words when you pick up the phone are : "where are you ?"
1. Put your email not encrypted on your web page (or on other web pages).
2. Type your email on every site where they offer you "free" downloads, pictures or jokes in your mailbox.
3. Use your main email in newsgroups.
4. Read or "preview" the spam messages while connected to the net with an email client that can read html, javascript and download pictures. That way, your email is activated and gets much more spammed (I tested this and I got 10 to 20 messages with an activated email and 1 to 4 with an unactivated one.)
5. Sell your email to advertisers who promise to send you interesting ads. In fact they just resell it ! I also tested this and you get... 100 to 200 spams DAILY with this !
6. Use some crappy webmail like hotmail (hotmerde as I call it) where either they send your email or there are so many users that spammers can send messages to anything@hotmail.com.
They should encrypt all emails in their archive to ensure the archive is not used as a repository of addresses.
A message in the archive would have the following structure:

Oh really? You 'do support' and you actually think that "unable to mount boot partition" is the fault of the operating system?
No ! Where have you read that in my post ? "Unable to mount boot partition" was due to an error on the disk. I have never said it was due to XP. What I meant is that it was difficult to fix for an average user.
clue #1 : learn to understand what you read if you want to answer.
clue #2 : if the OS displays a message, it means that it is somewhat loaded in the memory, even if not entirely.
If I had that nubmer of 'forced reboots' in a day I'd sack the 'support' tech.
Windows XP crashed with only one IE window. No tech can do anything against that. The problem is that IE is integrated in the kernel so I couldn't kill the process (keyboard locked).
You really are the worst kind of useless dork, full of opinions but, no fucking clue.
Opinions ? I just said that I use windows to be able to help others. That is a fact ! I also gave two examples that happened with XP. Facts ! What about your post ? Just aggressive, anonymous and without any argument.
clue #3 : If you want to be offensive with people, try at least to have solid argumentation.
I do support for people who fuck up their windows box. Often, windows can even fuck up by itself.
For example, someone called me telling his XP won't boot. The error was : "unable to mount boot partition". Of course, the safe mode won't boot either, and booting from the CD won't work. I did boot at last but NO WAY this could have been done by a basic user.
Thank you micro$oft, more easy money.
So i use windoze to keep updated about what's happening with their OS. But all my data is on ext2fs.
I agree with you, contributors should be rewarded. For example, every comment that is highly moderated (4 or 5) would be rewarded by a chunk of free access.
This would be an incentive for posting interesting comments.
The moderation system should be improved though so that every comment gets a fair chance.
