There should be times when the child can be with their friends without parental supervision. And when that happens, I see no problem if the parent gets a little assistance from retailers who won't sell overly violent video games, or porn, or beer or cigarettes to their children
It doesn't matter - anyone under 18 who wants to drink, smoke, or watch porn does. When was the last time you heard a 15 year old say, "I really want a cigarette but I won't smoke until I'm 18!"? Or how about taking a poll in the US for the number of people who started drinking before they were 21?
Something that strikes me as odd is that most of the long-time guitar or piano players that I know have no problems with their hands, but the people who work at a keyboard or game controller all the time do (not considering people who spend their time doing both of these things).
...sickle cell anemia. In some parts of the world - I don't remember why exactly - sickle cell anemia is actually a genetic advantage...hence selection against people without that trait, and eventually a high distribution of people who have it.
I must be missing the point to all of these "Well the US president lives better than I do!" replies. The US isn't communist. Capitalism is all about a handful of people at the top of the economic ladder, and a lot of people at the bottom.
From way back in 10th grade government class, it was my understanding that real communism is all about everyone having the same amount of everything. Of course, such a society doesn't and has never existed. I think that was what the original poster was trying to say.
SBLive Value does have digital in. Takes a little more toying around to access it (ie making homemade connectors), but it does work quite well.
Anyway, there are new standards emerging, like SACD (Super Audio CD) and DVD-Audio. If they catch on, we won't have to worry about Macrovision for that much longer.
Homework assignments: Do they really expect teachers to spend the time to type in whether each individual student turned in any given assignment? Don't they have anything better to do?
I don't know if you realize this or not, but currently, most teachers do their record keeping/grades on a computer. Assuming that the software they use on the website supports the software they use for keeping track of grades, updating would simply be uploading a file or two every night.
And with that in mind, perhaps there was no thrid gunman on a grassy knoll. Maybe Kennedy was the victim of a stray bit of cosmic matter?
:)
So that was what the "magic bullet" was...

Although, sometimes the movie itself doesn't matter at all, depending on whoever you're with :)

Socialist health care
If you live on the east coast, you're going to have to put a lot of faith in the post (ha)
They don't seem to rent out porns

Since youre going outside the case, remember to be a few feet away from your CRT monitor and TV too :)
(insert Neo/Matrix joke here)
If you decide to do this, do it at a large music store. Pissing off local small record stores doesn't do much for the cause.
Not everyone has an OC-192.
Nothing happened to it. Quake 4 might even use DOOM3's engine.
Try telling your boss that.

Funny how at first glance that looks like -Revelations 13:37.
Any alien race sufficiently advanced to travel the interstellar distances to reach us will be able to do whatever they please to us, DNA or no.
Not if we do an SCV rush.
Then again, one could spend just as much on instruments.

This reminds me of a very similar discussion over at K5.
International waters, eh...?
"We can't hear you! Come about 15 meters this way!"
Seriously though, I seem to remember a similar article from awhile back.
...is the difference between interpolation and anti-aliasing?
No, Oprah gave us the Mad Cow Disease
While I agree, all is not lost - go rent The Cell, on DVD if you can. It's an excellent movie, and it doesn't get much more artistic than this. :)
