I use CrossWire Sword Project myself. I like the program in Windows, and you may download lots of modules including a KJV Bible with Strongs numbers and Strongs dictionaries. In Linux I have BibleTime for
KDE but it's not as good...
Porn hurts your relationship with other people. So, yes, it hurts society. (BTW that superbowl breast thing leave us Europeans baffled at how America overeacted...)

I surely hope you are joking. No one in their
right mind would change a mission critical COBOL
program and files (With databases that can easilly
be in the gigabyte range) by Excel and VB. And,
for the record, I don't like COBOL.
Read Carmack's.plan: If they fitted all the binaries in one CD there would not be a way to see which platform generated the sale, and platform statistics would be impossible.
So, if you want to run Quake3 under linux buy the linux boxed version. Simple.
The only free X Server for Windows NT I found is MI/X and it's quite good actually. Here's a bit of the FAQ:
This document is available in text-only format as well: ftp://ftp.microimages.com/pub/mix/mix_faq.txt __________________________________________________ _______________
Q: Is MI/X really free?
A: Yes. No strings attached. MicroImages does retain a copyright on it, however.
A: MicroImages gains name recognition and good will. MicroImages maintains MI/X as the X Server for its professional TNT image processing, geospatial data management, and desktop cartography products. In order to make the TNT products work exactly the same on all Windows, Macintosh and UNIX computers, MicroImages needed a robust and stable X Server whose future was not in the hands of some other company. (MicroImages also enjoys the irony that some ARC/INFO users will run our competitor's product on our free X Server.)
A: You can download it from MicroImages' FTP site, or from mirror sites. The URL to download MI/X from MicroImages' FTP site in Lincoln, NE U.S.A. is: ftp://ftp.microimages.com:4021/pub/mix/mix68k.sit. hqx (for MacOs 68xxx) ftp://ftp.microimages.com:4021/pub/mix/mixppc.sit. hqx (for MacOS PPC) --> http://www.microimages.com in the "Free Stuff" section. Currently, MicroImages has an Australasian mirror for the MacOS files only. You can download MI/X from this mirror with the two following URLs: ftp://ftp.unsw.edu.au/pub/mac/comm/microimages-x-s erver-ppc.hqx ftp://ftp.unsw.edu.au/pub/mac/comm/microimages-x-s erver-68k.hqx
What would happen if Andover.Net gets bought by another company? Would the buyer have to honor the signed contract? Or if someone bought/. from Andover.Net would they have to honor the inicial contract?
After reading all this comments I feel Linux need a HOWTO on how to tune a system like a quad Xeon with 1 gig of RAM and RAID to the proper performance. This kind of box is not the tipical hacker machine but reading the comments on this page already showed many things that could integrate a checklist.
Maybe a new Linux distribution (or a new flavor of an existing distribution is needed - Like High End Server Debian) is needed. Despite the obvious bias in the study other thing is obvious: They are NT people, and people without experience in Linux could hardly tune a regular machine.
- So Linux does not scale well out of the box:
Solution 1: Create a packaged solution.
Solution 2: Create instructions on how to correct the problem yourself -> the Open Source way of solving problems!
Companies are starting to compare their produts with Linux! "...outperforming Linux, Solaris and Windows NT Server...." Linux was the first of the list. So, even if it is a twisted PR, it proves one thing: Linux is mainstream.
Time to try *BSD;-) ?

Agreed. Unfortunatelly lots of people without a brain of their own start flamming Windows and promoting Linux just because it's the c00l thing to do. Well I like and use Linux (slackware), and I don't like Microsoft nor their tactics, but I don't like seeing people trash MS just because they are MS. e.g. Windows crashes: Everybody trashes MS Linux crashes: not even a word. Yes, and Linux can also crash. What is diferent is the philosophy (see Cathedral & Bazar by ESR) So Make Code not War!
