  1. welcome to 3rd grade math on Obama: Maybe It's Time For Mandatory Voting In US · · Score: 1

Your options are: +1 a candidate, 0 (stay home), or -1 a candidate by voting for their opposition. So they want to shrink it to just two options. That actually gives people less choice.

  2. that's a short meeting on Gabe Newell Understands Half-Life Fans, Not Promising Any Sequels · · Score: 1

  3. good on Nintendo To Announce Virtual Boy 2 · · Score: 1

Every mega corporation announcing a serious VR headset is good for two reasons. One, it devalues Oculus Rift's purchase by Facebook and anything that stops that project or loses Facebook money is very positive. They need to go out of business and soon. Second, it creates legitimate competition that will drive down prices. The initial prices for the Oculus put is straight on the Segway path. Now I might be able to get a good VR device for under the cost of a gaming console.

So even it goes to the landfill and turns into dirt, then you have heavily contaminated dirt that will never be used as dirt. It's still sitting in the landfill with practically the same volume and mass.

  7. riiiight on Apple May Start Accepting Android Phones As Trade-Ins · · Score: 2

Because once someone can drag and drop photos off their device, add a micro-SD card, use standard chargers, and have almost full control over the phone, they'll definitely want to go to Apple.
I just learned yesterday that there are two ways to get photos off an ipad air. One, download dropbox and upload them at about 1Mb/s (that's a lower case b). Two, buy a real tablet.

  8. nope on Windows 10's Biometric Security Layer Introduced · · Score: 1

If I can log in by singing Total Eclipse of the Heart, that'd be pretty cool. Other than that, giving people two ways to log in instead of one is ridiculous and a horrible idea. It's always biometrics + password backup.

  10. my own customer on New Site Mocks Bad Artwork On Ebook Covers · · Score: 1

One of my own customers for web design does her own covers. They honestly should have hired me to do them. They're like a 1990's powerpoint slide. They're absolutely horrid. The only thing keeping me from offering to do them is their horrible reviews on Amazon with multiple people complaining that the book itself contains upscaled graphics, misaligned items, etc. So basically all the books are a complete mess so why not leave the cover?

  11. how stupid are these companies? on UN Backs Fossil Fuel Divestment Campaign · · Score: 1

Here's a question. You put up a solar array or wind farm and after the investment pays off, you've got a magical infinite free money-making machine. You burn coal, oil, or gas and you have to spend billions on drilling like 10 freakin miles under ground and keep moving the rig then ship it and refine it. WHY THE HELL IS ANYONE STILL INVESTING IN FOSSIL FUELS?! It's the stupidest investment in the world. It's not like OPEC companies don't have the money to invest in green technologies.

  15. ridiculous title on Homeopathy Turns Out To Be Useless For Treating Medical Conditions · · Score: 1

What a complete and utter bullshit title. It even says right in the summary, they're "no more" effective than placebos, which have been proven over and over and over to actually be somewhat effective. So I guess they have "an effect" unlike the title specifies.

  16. should be everywhere on New Solar Capacity Beats Coal and Wind, Again · · Score: 1

Solar is a magical device that you place in your backyard and it turns sunlight into money. The payoff period can be even as good as a windmill turbine too but with less maintenance so it's a better long term investment. If everyone adopted bitcoin mining and that's sometimes a 1.5 year payoff period, why aren't there more solar investments being put up by rich investors? This is safer bet than bitcoins!

  17. They missed the big one on $7.4 Million Blurred Lines Verdict Likely To Alter Music Business · · Score: 1

Technically 7 years since the last DLC for New Vegas. And everyone is sick of waiting on GTA V and Half Life 3. Fallout 4 is technically more progressed than the HL3 project, which isn't saying much.

  19. wait a minute... on Researchers Nearly Double the Size of Worker Ants · · Score: 5, Funny

This is EXACTLY what happened in the ant mission from Fallout 3. I had to kill like 50 of those giant ants. In fact, I think they breathed fire too. They should really stop pointless science like this before I have to clean up yet another mess with a flechette shotgun.

  21. Seriously, do not run for president on Clinton's Private Email System Gets a Security "F" Rating · · Score: 1

Here's two things you don't do when you want to run for president. First, have the NSA revelations then digital threats from foreign countries and then run a secret, rule-breaking email system with pathetic security. Second, be a Democrat in a country with over 10 trillion in debt and run a failed political campaign that ends multiple millions in debt. Seriously you lunatic, if you can't run your own campaign's budget, why the hell would we let you be in charge of the country's budget?

Here's a bonus one. Don't point at people in the audience and pretend to know them when they're not actually there and you're doing it to look more folksy.

  22. Another failure on Does USB Type C Herald the End of Apple's Proprietary Connectors? · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Remember displayport? Apple adopted it completely and nobody else wanted quite literally HDMI without audio. They made their own mini-connector which especially went nowhere. Then they dropped it and screwed over anyone who did adopt it early. Tada, Thunderbolt is out. Nobody wants or uses that either. In case you aren't seeing the pattern, Apple will drop everything and invent some new inferior garbage port that nobody will use instead of Thunderbolt or USB type C.
