  1. Re:Not the same for the Navigation Box on Airbus A380 Under Fire · · Score: 1

I can't see what would be different for the 380.

It is. appearantly to save weight...

    From TFA:

Most passenger jets have two cabin-pressure valves, with separate motors operating each. Because aircraft makers want redundancy on safety systems, the planes have three motors for each valve, with different chips controlling each motor. The Boeing 777, for example, has cabin-pressure chips made by Motorola Inc., Intel Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Most jetliners also have a manual override so that the pilot can take control in an emergency.

Airbus has acknowledged that its designers faced challenges as they attempted to reduce the A380's weight. Early on, the company elected to go with four outflow valves on the A380, with only one motor on each valve, which is slightly larger than a cabin window. Each motor uses a TTTech controller chip, and there is no manual override system.

Well... trow one of theese onto an x850 (wont fit an 6800) and i would imagine it will be pretty toasty, but still stable. Pretty much as i imagine your card is. All this talk about how much temp is too much is IMO just BS as long as it doesent crash. However disabeling the fan on the (relativly) small and usually shrouded (sp?) standard heatsinks on newer cards propably wont work.

I think there are two stroke engines wich have oil pan lubrication in the same way as bigger engines.(although i could be wrong, and i can't think of any specific examples.) At least according to a book i read on the MD system while studying Audio/video Repair. The point whith this is that the MD's for data and the ones for audio are PHYSICALLY(!) different (MDA is slightly thinner etc...). I'll never forgive SONY for this one :) Honestly i dont know why somone hasent made a md drive for pc's that can use audio md's, but i guess there is either som legal or technical issues about this. The former is the most propable i guess :)
