I have an old P3-500, on that machine oo's spreadsheet app takes forever to render a simple chart, no such problem with xls. Other than that I use oo often enough (I don't have ms office installed anymore)
Don't forget John Scofield. Apart from that there's tons of great players out there, just visit some local bars where they get a chance to play. Now that the hair-metal and grunge days are over the "record industry" seems to think that guitar bands aren't as profitable as britney. This doesn't mean there aren't loads of good players or bands around.
I am all for a common sense approach to violence in video games, however violence in the media does have a desensitizing effect on people (naturally children are more impressionable). Read this book for example if you are interested in the subject.
I am not an american but I have the impression that all mr. Bush has done is take "freedom" away from america whilst (the patriot act for example), furthermore it appears that he is certainly pro-big business. Keeping these things in mind I don't see how "bush judges" could have helped in this case.
Jet planes only get reasonable miles/gallon if you consider the number of passengers they carry.
The maximum theoretical efficiency of jet engines is not very high. This has to do with the fact that the pressure difference (and thus temperature difference (carnot efficiency)) in axial flow turbo-machinery is limited.
A supertanker is much much more efficient in terms of miles/gallon/tonnes transported.
Hi, I own the patent for the use of the lowercase letter "a", rates are currently $.005 for first use and $.001 for each subsequent usage. You would owe me $0.023, however since I used some of your patented mathematics in calculating what you owe me this amount is reduced by.0002 for one use of + plus.001 for use of * which makes the total, eh.0002 +.001, which brings the total on eh.0002 +.001 +.0002, which brings the total on eh.0002 +.001 +.0002+.0002.... Ah well screw it...
It is not really true that "computers" are better than humans. Not all chess programs are equally good, good programs will have different strengths depending to the type of hardware they run on and the way that they are set-up. I doubt the handheld computer being reviewed has the Elo rating of say Fritz. But I suppose that it is true that some programs on some machines are better than 99%+ of all chess players.

Those early OT people had mega lifespans as well.
So you're saying that Bill Gates is a little like Robin Hood?
Agreed, it's a bit disrespectful to the ones that make this site (the readers/posters). Without readers/posters this site would be nothing.
Have you thought of spelling viagra as V.1@gr4?

hmm, the euro symbol was lost somewhere, seems like slashdot doesn't support euro symbols.
alt 0128 (on the numeric keypad) does the job:
uh, you want your daughter's laptop to "phone home". Are you not just a jealous dad?

that's not p2p, just a good old pyramid scheme...

there's also a nice windows version (free for personal use).
where's the rush?
maybe the human body produces a lot of heat, but on our planet heat isn't that useful at 310 degrees K, remember the 2nd law of thermodynamics?
nah, the question is:
"where do you want to go today"?

yeah, the global war on terror is used as an excuse for the current regimes totalitarian tendencies. You americans better read 1984.
SUV's spend their lives on congested highways, stop, go traffic is not very good for an aircooled engine.
Yeah, beatles are very silent, especially since John and George are dead
was never very crazy about motorola phones anyhow.
Well how about Economic and human freedoms?
