I bought a VCR in 1996 from Zenith that didn't record commercials. That feature wasn't even advertized on the box or in any literature. I still keep that crap VCR just for that feature.
I named the file. I, therefore, own the copyright to the name of the file. Without breaking my encryption or having a license from me, you don't know the name of the file.
And the license wouldn't even have to make them give up their rights to sue.
"In order to use this key, you or your organization may not be a member of RIAA, MPAA, etc, or their subsidiaries, contractors, government slaves, etc. Furthermore, you may not disseminate the contents of any file encrypted with this key to ANYONE."
So, just keep on sharing the encrypted file, and if RIAA sues the crap out of you for sharing copyrighted material, countersue the crap out of them for violating their own law.
SO your $300 box gives EXTREMELY shitty quality compared to this $27k box. One of those little X10 video transmitters? There's some high quality stuff.
yeah, but not everything relies on them. When I turn on an light, it's going to light regardless of what direction the electrons are spinning. What he's saying is that the brain actually USES these quantum principals, ie, if an electron is spinning this way, release this chemical, or send this impulse. Otherwise, do something else. It could, on the other hand, completely disregard these things.
I wish I had seen this crap about 2 years ago when I was motorcycling to work 5 times a week. The light at the end of the state highway I live on has an inductive sensor if you're getting on the highway (yeah. You have to stop three lanes of a four lane divided highway to enter the highway). It was IMPOSSIBLE to switch. You either had to run it (quite fun!) or wait for a car to get in behind you. During rush hour, I sometimes had to wait 10 minutes for the light.
In State College, PA, every diamond highway interchange has these. If the light's been red for a while and you start coming up the off-ramp, it'll be green before you even get a chance to slow down. Not only that, but they use optical sensors instead of inductive sensors. I know the inductive ones are hard as hell to change with a motorcycle (you have to be right on the edge of the coil), I dunno how the optical ones are.
But then again, is it really competition? MS makes MSN's search function just as good or better than Google. It's the default search engine IE uses. So why even bother to use Google any more? So what if they improve?
And this new desktop search tool. It'll find it's way into Longhorn. Screw downloading the Google version!
See what I'm saying? MS sees a good idea, steals it/makes theirs better/whatever, and then makes it impossible for anyone to compete.
I've never had an HDD die (other than a 60GXP) from overuse. I've had them die from brownouts, lightning storms, power supply going whacko, but never just plain giving up the ghost. I only ever have one HDD in my comp anyway, but something else always decides to screw the pooch along with it.
The disadvantage, unfortunately, is that hard drive failing. Think about it. If it's powered up all the time, it's just as likely to get fried by the same thing that kills your original hard drive. This works for an undelete capability, but as a backup medium, isn't good. Unless, of course, it's removable, then it could be a good method.
Google was the first company to do it BETTER, tho. Windows' search tool sucks. I'm not usually an MS basher, but it seems to me here that the only reason they're doing this is because "ooh, look, someone else can do it better, so we need to copy it!"
Wow, talk about bad moderation. Moderators, notice the article synopsis: "The bottom line : like the new online search, Microsoft have made a very good effort to get back in the game."
They've made no effort whatsoever. They just stole someone else's idea.
No way, jacksonville is HUGE compared to where I live. Trust me, I'm in the woods. What I'm trying to say is that food prices vary widely. They're not almost all the same price countrywide.
Food? No way. I went to Jacksonville, NC this summer and was amazed that I couldn't find a loaf of bread under $1. I'm from PA, and even the premium brands are only about $0.89. Couldn't find it in NC.
Go get a hydrogen bottle refilled. How long did that take you? How much energy is now stored in that bottle?
Go recharge a battery. How long did that take you? How much energy is stored in that battery?
I can't plug a battery into a charger, go inside, get a coffee, pay for the recharge, and take off and go any significant amount of distance. I can with gas, and I can with hydrogen, LNG, or any other alternative fuel.
Yeah.

Your idea sounds great, but remember how cheap people really are.
$0.99/song to have it forever works great.
$3 for a show which, knowing how these things work, STILL HAS ADS THAT YOU CAN'T SKIP, won't.
Why wouldn't it?

Now call the DVDCCA and see how much it would cost you to license a CSS key.
And Apple, to resell all the software.

Disability payments?
hey, I live in State College. The lights only suck during a football game. They're certianly better than most of central PA (Try out Bellefonte.).
WOAH!

ah, but the 16th was declared the day by the AMERICAN vac society, so it really doesn't count until the 16th here.

Oh, good. I thought I was the only one in the world who knows that there's a TV on somewhere in the house, even if it's muted.
You've never used an IBM DeathStar have you??

Ok, troll, I'll bite.
$20/month. Half the cable bill. To do what? Write down what channel you watched?
OH NO, BIG BROTHER KNOWS I WATCHED FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIRE! I'MA GO TO GUANTANAMO BAY NOW!
What?! Oh, you mean taking something else that's already been done, copying it, and marketing the fuck out of it? Yeah, way to be, Microsoft!

*looks to the right, sees trees and a two-lane highway*
*looks to the left, sees trees and a creek*
Go ahead, bring the jobs out here!
YOU try growin' a banana tree in Pennsylvania.
OK, you miss the big reason.

You sir, have made me laugh. Unfortunately, my mod points expired 1 hour and 27 minutes ago. So that's all you get.
