My little school has about 1100 students and 2 T1 lines. They have given us 30% of the bandwith to use for P2P and it uses 30% 24 hours a day. At any given time from 6am - 4am 98% of the total bandwith is being used. Read into what you will. The school has put together a group of students, which i am a member, to look at the issue.
We are open any ideas by the way. If you have any ideas we would love to hear for you. The email is as follows. compcommittee@hanover.edu
This is very off topic, but I think it must be said. While US Steel, Bethlehem, and other large integrated yards have been losing big because of Companies like Nucor, and Steel Dynamics. Those small scale foundries do little to no processing on site and rely on scrap yards all to do that work. This works very well for the most part. Steel Dynamics has just finished building a new foundry in Northern Indiana and is buying out one in Indianapolis.
Last thing is that cheap and lower grade steel from overseas didn't help.
This story found its way into yesterdays story on the animatrix. The link was dead in that story as well. And the site itself does not have a link to the trailer....
This is great and all, and by all means, more power to him. But i leave in the middle of a corn field about 10 miles from anything. I really just want to get cable. Highspeed internet is only a dream to me. I guess thats why i go to college...
Ive been waiting for this since i 1st played with a good friend's ipod. He hads tryed all the windows work around but his mac works just so much better.
My local ISP started doing 802.11b access last year. The issue is that my house is about 1.5 miles of range. When I get home from school this summer I might try building some of these so I can get some good bandwidth. Only thing is I don think there is a corn field high enough for the repeaters.
Really sounds like NASA thought this one out, if you have ever done anything wrong you cant go. Wow, good going NASA. 63 trillion in tax money might have been put it to this
NASA guy 1: Can you some on the Space Station?
NASA guy 2: Dont think so
NASA guy 1: No smokers then. Thats the end of the list. Lets take a 6 million doller brake and drink a 100,000 cup of coffee!
NASA guy 2: WOOT!

This is really good news. Now its going to take about another 4 year before the game comes out. I cant wait! I'm going to start camping out at EB right not! WOOOO!
It's been a pain in the ass to find A place to get Mp3s of live music. Napster was a breading ground for mislabeled music, and the other programs are just as bad. Don't get me wrong http://www.nugs.net is one of the best places to find Phish http://www.phish.com and dead http://dead.net . Other sites dont update or are slow, unreliable and tend to have very little buy way of new bands.
Keep Fighting the good fight! BEIGE RAGE!!!!
