I could see the convenience of just placing Device A on the Device B Contact Plate to achieve connectivity. No wires, no plugs. Just have them touch, and the connection is live.
That said. It's Sony and proprietary. So screw 'em.
>if EVERY action you do prompts a "You are clicking your mouse, cancel or allow", or some other message, sure that is security, but then you are left with a crappy user experience.
You are coming to a sad realization. Cancel or Allow?

God forbid.

This is not a linux problem. This is a problem with.NET -- it's not open source.
>3) I hate to say it, but Windows XP actually runs consistently faster under load on my laptop than Ubuntu. The GUI in particular is more responsive under load than GNOME or KDE.
Did you have hardware accelaration on?
> 4) Things like easily configuring wireless connections really do work out of the box better on Windows XP than they do in Linux.
Really? This may be hardware specific. When I installed ubuntu on my system, it autoconfigured to connect to the only open WAP around -- my next door neighbors.
If it is hardware specific, then -- again -- it's probably not a linux problem, it's a problem with your hardware vendor not releasing specs.
> 5) Windows has far more good software options.
This is a debatable point. If you expect Photoshop and all the other proprietary software you currently own, then your expectations are out of whack. Granted, GIMP ain't Photoshop, Inkscape ain't Illustrator, etc. But the various software packages are slowly making progress.
When it comes to games, however, you are absolutely correct. Get a Wii.
If hardware vendors would release specs, and content vendors would stop trying to hide behind drm castles, then most barriers to linux adoptions would be resolved.
Now that MS has its shiny new cross-licensing patent contract with Novell, it now has a new opening in its war on Linux. They are probably pulling back all resources from the SCO front, getting ready to exploit this new angle for a few years.
So, it is the corrupted elections that are hurting the country, or is it the fact that people are pointing out the fact that our electoral system is corrupted that is hurting the country?

After Firefly, Serenity several seasons of BSG, Star Trek just seems a bit 'quaint.'
> So I guess the moral of the story is, don't get caught, or don't use the schools network to download your movies
Or: Go to a different school.

Dude, how long is Internet 2 going to be "experimental"? Is this like development for Duke Nukem 3?
Microsoft conquered the desktop first. It seems like a good strategy for them.
No brainer. I choose nudity.
Corporate war is just around the corner. Get a botnet to bring down your competitor's internet and their entire workforce productivity drops to zero.
Probably not zero. Probably more like 60s or 70s era of productivity.
I don't understand the argument.
"Don't become dependent on using a car because if someone steals it you'll have to walk."
This is at least 1.5 years old, probably more.
Yes. More like 1.57 years old. Maybe even 1.6!
Wolverine, no question. SNIKT!
MOOOOOOO.
Do you have a DVR? Do you skip TV commercials? Do you change channels during commercials? Do you leave the room during commercials?

Beethoven could play piano and drums at the same time? You learn something new every day...
Old news. He gave a great performance in Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure.
have also discussed building a Web video player that could play clips
There *is* a player -- it's called Flash. Why do they need another player? DRM, perhaps? No thank you.
Now that MS has its shiny new cross-licensing patent contract with Novell, it now has a new opening in its war on Linux. They are probably pulling back all resources from the SCO front, getting ready to exploit this new angle for a few years.
Nah. Costs too much money.
What do you mean by "something," exactly?
Vote? Protest? What?
If you stop seeing anyone complaining at all, then you know things are REALLY bad... those people are being censored/arrested/etc.
Why do you want to wait for that happen? Won't it be too late then?
All you need nowadays apparently is crap code and a userbase willing to kick people in the crotch.
That must be Step 2!
That was a joke.
The comment had "</Bush>" at the end, but I didn't encode the the angle brackets, and the "tag" didn't appear on the page.
Thanks for replying, though. You responded correctly and called me out.
I know, I know. "-1, Offtopic"
Why do you hate Google?

Did you see the opening sequence of XMen III?
My wife woke me up out of bed to tell me the news.
