I just got married, and my wife and I are putting together a home network in the (small) apartment we're now living in. We'd like to set up a firewall/mail server/small-file-server....
Dude, honestly, none of us believe you. You should have included a link to your marriage certificate and a picture of yourselves. People posting articles on Slashdot aren't married.
Besides, you just got married, and your interested in the network?????
Sorry, but my 11 year old can't get enough Bionicle's. Won't play with Meccano, KNex, or anything else, but Bionicles get hours of attention.
Not only that, but he builds them, then the 3 year old destroys them, and they have a great time playing together with them. At only $5CDN each, they're great cheap entertainment.
Definitely not for adults, but great for kids to spend an hour with the lego here and there.
I wanted a Sony T68i phone. Rogers wanted $699 for it, or $399 with a 3 year contract. I don't do contracts since if I'm not happy with the service, I switch. So, off to eBay I went, and voila, for a grand total of $125 Canadian including shipping I bought myself a T68i *unlocked*.
Off to Radio Shack for a Rogers SIM I signed up for an account and have been using it with no problem. Even better, I'm in Europe this month, and simply popped in a SIM from our office over here and have nice GSM service wherever I happen to go over here.
Try that with a Rogers LOCKED Sony phone. Many thanks to eBay!!!
Well, the US legal system & the DMCA again amazes.
Since you can no longer safely use a keyboard without possible violating the DMCA, I thought I'd provide readers with a DMCA proof computer.
I can get a 200+ jukebox CD player for my home stereo. Why can't I buy the equivalent for my PC? Daisy-chaining a couple of those together would be a perfect solution for me.
The primary user of the COMPUTER on which the SOFTWARE is installed may make a second copy for his or her exclusive use on a portable computer.
Now, does this mean I can make a copy of only the software on this disk, or the entire disk? Seems to me that this would give a "fair use" type argument for making that copy.
However, you'd have to use an average speed CD player or less, otherwise you'd be making too many copies.
1. Where are the dead pigeons? This could take billions to solve 2. What happened to the "fry guys?" Hamburgler is back, but the fry guys are still missing. 3. Three-dimensional porn. I mean, here is a HUGE untapped market. 4. Long term effects of cruise missiles on sand dunes. Since they seem to be exploding in the desert a lot, this might be a worthwhile investigation. 5. Finally, where is Osama? Maybe he knows where the pigeons are?
The best solution to force manufacturers to change their tune, is to hit into the costs. When a retailer "sells" their CDs, they already own the CDs. As far as BMG is concerned, they already sold their quota.
However, when retailers have to return CDs as defective, that's when it starts costing. While BMG would resist returns from smaller retailers, they would have huge problems refusing thousands of returns from a giant like Walmart.
So, simply start buying as many BMG CDs as you can, open them, then return them!
I'd be hoping you'd be wearing jeans or shorts AND sandals.
Wouldn't want to work in your office if the jeans and shorts are optional in place of sandals.

"It smelled really bad," he said.
It usually does when you cut the cheese...

I'd like to see funding for the following:

The Staples store in my town (Kelowna, BC) has cordless Logitech's (must be clearing out?)
/ de tails&CRID=103&CONTENTID=5051&countryid=2&language id=1
They're only $30-50 CDN (~20-35 US), and can be used with a landline too. Here's the URL from Logitech that I think are the one's:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products
Hope this helps, as maybe Staples is clearing them in other stores.
Actually, that's only half-true.
