could not agree more. slackware is the most logical gnu/linux distribution i've ever used. simple and easy. sure, redhat/fedora might run (almost) out of the box, but if you want to change something, its harder than with slack.
If i remember corretcly, The buissness model for Lindows was to run Windows software on free software (gnu/linux) - hence the name Lin(LINux)dows(winDOWS) (duh). The name was originally supposed to make you associate it with windows. Anyone honestly claiming otherwise is IMHO full of it. Sure, i have no problem with this and i dont think Microsoft should be able to force Lindows to change its name. But i really dont like how Lindows "sort of" denies this now, when they couldnt make the technology work as they hoped it would.
In my experience, third party apps & crappy drivers are responsible for 95% of my crashes, atleast since i switched to win2k. Win95/98 on the other hand..
I dont have the energy to read the article but how would FBI, The US Goverment and the US public feel about non-us goverments policing p2p-nets? Would they be outraged or welcome the "help"? The Internet is public domain, not US property.

IANAL, but the GPL is a license, nothing else. You cant lose your copyright just because the license is invalid.

You need to restart the program.
An error log is being created."

Do they count Office as a "third party app."?

Just look at the hardware market. Like motherboards and bios-updates.
Linux is GPL'ed, and tivo is in compliance with the GPL.

Isnt it illegal to "own" the employees free time like this? I would think it atleast would fall under any anti-slave laws or something.
