Free market economics and capitalism are not synonymous. Capitalism, basically, is feudalism with money instead of land, usury instead of feudal service. You could dump capitalism and the market would still exist.
It's not a problem, its a feature. You could only censor your node if you knew what was in it. If you could find out what your node contained then you lose deniability, which is kind of the whole point. If you don't like it, dont run it.
They can then target ads to users much more effectively, and market their userbase to advertisers much more solidly than they could with more rudimentary user tracking methods.
I love the idea of them targeting ads at all the 108 year old Afghan grannies etc etc.
I would have thought they'd like the idea of Google caching their content because it lessens the number of people poisoning their registration database with thousands of fake identities and email addresses. I must have added a couple of hundred of them myself.
I did email her (politely) and am still waiting for a reply. I suspect I'll keep on waiting as I'm only a member of the public rather than a lobbyist for some big software company.
I wouldn't. And now I'll have to copy them all to make them work properly. Self defeating really.

There's a wind farm just outside Edinburgh which I've always thought looked pretty smart. Surreal but smart. The only crappy looking bits are the pylons carrying the power lines away.
Played the first Silent Hill alone in the middle of the night. The radio static noise when monsters were nearby in the fog became quite nervewracking. A truly creepy game.
I think you meant 'the Germans', not 'the Nazis'. After all we don't currently refer to Americans as 'the Republicans'.
How about this ?
Apparently Ladbrokes employs 55,000 people and is worth about 3 billion pounds, I imagine they can afford it.
Why not take the 3 billion out of the military budget where it's going to waste anyway ?
I'm all for new particle accelerators, but I'm also all for not using money needlessly.
Just take the money out of the military budget where it's just going to waste anyway.

I've always taken being called a commie as a compliment.
You'll teach your kids that it's okay to break the law, steal music and rip-off the work of others?
Nope, I teach them that copying isn't theft. Plagiarism is though.
People are essentially misled into giving personal info and, since Somerville is using Odeon's marks, how could they think otherwise?
I don't recall having to provide any personal info to use his site. And it was made quite clear that it wasn't the official Odeon page.
another stupid law to ignore.
What, like a hot dog ?
At least Stephen Moore is still about. It'd be hard to find another voice like that.

A remake of Battlestar Galactica couldn't possibly be worse than the original, could it ?

Fortunately not everyone's a cretin.
After watching Bush and Hussein reprise the ape fight scene from '2001' that 'qualitative difference' isn't so apparent.
Good.

The same can be said of any news source. Especially government vetted ones.
