Setting network.enableIDN to false worked for me until I restarted Firefox. After I restarted I got the 'Meow' page again. However if I toggle network.enableIDN to true and then back to false it works again and I get the error message.
the sole purpose of the kyoto treaty is to cripple the US economy
Look out the window behind you! The UN / Al Qaeda black helicopter snatch squad are coming for you because you've exposed their secret plan!
From a business perspective, patent and copyright systems in the US is broken and are not working as intended. The efforts to force these broken systems upon the rest of the world (to protect american companies and interests) is not going down to well. A large part of the problem there seems to be the overwhelming influence of corporate interests in US politics. By the time anyone reaches Congress they've been bought by corporate campaign funding and therefore the legislature is being steered by entities driven purely by profit. No government is entirely free from this sort of thing but in the US it's become completely out of control.
WTF! I have to get this by law, *and* i have to pay for it. So it's a TAX then?! Given that we'll be paying for these ID cards there is the probability that there will be large numbers of refuseniks. The sooner GW's lap dog is kicked out of office the better. Unfortunately the Labour party don't look like dumping him at the moment and while the LibDems have improved in the polls I can't, even through my most rose tinted glasses, see them do more than replacing the Tories as the opposition at the next election.
The communism has taught people that honesty and hard work doesn't pay Whereas here in the West capitalism taught people that honesty and hard work doesn't pay.
Woohoo!! Mayhem!! I want a high powered version of this mounted as a beacon on my car roof so I can cruise around the houses while all these godawful reality TV shows are on. I wonder what else it will turn off (or on)? For instance my Sony TV remote turns off my ancient Mac.
I've always found that on a price/performance basis methamphetamine just wipes the floor with crack. I reckon it would also make a much better active ingredient for all those 'energy drinks' than caffeine, taurine or guarana.
Yeah, except that the Budweiser in Europe is more likely to be the one from Europe From the Czech Republic. My default beer, and very nice it is. AFAIK in most of Europe the Czech brew is Budweiser and the Anheuser-Busch stuff is called something else.
Fairly crappy looking sunglasses with added weight to make them fall off your face. I'd rather have a set of Bluetooth headphones for my existing mp3 player. And what's with the price tag? I presume this is aimed foursquare at label conscious idiots.
Stephen Baxter's 'Voyage' has a good description of this. Eeeewwww.

Teletext works via cable for me too but it's a bit flakey. I usually switch over to a terrestrial channel to use it. I think Telewest don't fix it because they want you to use their awful interactive services ('Loading data, please wait.......and wait......and wait.......') which appear to have been designed by someone who just loves the look of eye searing flash and banner filled websites. They really need to strip out all the unneeded graphical rubbish as it just slows everything down to the point of unusability and uses up screen space that could be put to better use.
2.5.28 seems to have sorted much of that. I used to be restarting every couple of days before upgrading. Current memory usage doesn't look to have changed much in a week.
According to another comment I've just read it's caused by inline iframes in some of the ads, so perhaps if you're blocking the ads you won't see the problem.

And if I had a thousand mod points I'd mod it all the way back down again.
Or to make it look nicer point it at a virtual host on your webserver which returns a 1*1 transparent gif as a 404.
Mine's listed in order of annoyance.

The earth wasn't a solid mass 4 billion years ago.
It's still not a solid mass now.
I remember seeing traffic light countdown clocks in Melbourne as a kid, circa 1970.
....you have my pity. I hope your country survives another four years of these neocon thugs.

What is spam for me could not be for you.
Care to provide an example of a spam that somebody might want to read ?

Same here. I'd never even heard of this problem until now.
