Why would anyone want that, when you can actually talk to the peeps up there, which is free if you have the necessary license/equipment (which is easy to get and cheap)...
The keyboard you're using today is boring. And, we guarantee you'll agree by the time you finish our week-long series of keyboard and mouse reviews -- or your money back (oh wait, this is free).
Surrre...who cares about the keyboard getting done what it's supposed to? It's not "amazing" enough, I want that other one with the steel nails as buttons and the funky lights all over!
... processors are not the bottleneck in any way. They are already so fast that buses, caches and memory have a very hard time to keep up, not speeking about secondary or even tertiary memory at all. That's the real bottleneck these days, the buses to the caches and the caches/memory itself. Most of you know how many processor cycles are lost if some data cannot be pulled out of the cache, but must be pulled out of the memory or even the harddisk (we are speaking about millions of ns's here...).
So I'd like to see some evolutionary/revolutionary inventions in these sectors, rather than making cpu's even faster and making the bottleneck of buses, caches and memories even larger...
...but everytime I read through the description of a slashdot news story and do not get what the story is about, I can be sure that JonKatz was the author.
No flaming intended and nothing personal, but just now I read through it, continued surfing and suddenly I thought "hell..what was that story on slashdot again?" That only happens with JonKatz stories...
Bart Beavers, a member of the task force based out of the FBI office in Toledo, said search warrants obtained for six other residences were not served because the occupants were not home or for various other reasons.
Ohhh....this is just beautiful...I can see some (six?) seriously scared script kiddies in front of me trying to get their modem to work normally again *g*

Imagine their parents: No...no mommy, I'm not into computers anymore...you can really throw them away...yes I know that I spend all my time in front of it for the last 10 years...but you know...it's... it's... just not the same anymore *tears flow*;-)))))
And what about that paragraph from the article then: ?
LindowsOS is based on a distribution of Linux, which is covered by a license that requires it to be made freely available for modification and redistribution. However, a system designer who used an unlicensed version of LindowsOS would not be able to use Lindows.com's logo or join the LindowsOS Certification program, and would receive no technical support.
So ... it's kindof "quantum-china" these days? When did that change from the old "relativity-we-are-evil-china"? ;)
Personally, I find this one much more fitting:

According to this article (sorry, german only) the EU knows exactly what Microsoft is up to with Palladium and they do want to work against it!
Here is a translation using Google.
