I'm pretty sure PowerDVD XP does this to me. Kick it on and have foobar playing, WHAM instant 100% because they're both controlling the "wave" mixer slider. Although, I can still slam them both with the Main mixer slider, but still.
I would think even back when we had the ability to do multiple streams to the card and allow the card to do the mixing that this could be implemented fairly easy... The software stack eliminates the hardware end of it, but the hardware cards "doing it all" is a performance gain, no matter how slight.
Wouldn't it be kind of easy (granted, HW would have to support it) to send the stream to the card, and along with it say "Hey, I'm supposed to be at 75%"
Now, when your car gets damaged and the shops are all closed - which has happened to me before, you can usually find someplace that can rent you a car. Same deal; you eat a little bit more cost... At least a replacement phone isn't $29 a day:)
heh, don't send airhead PIs to mess with a little old lady who got through a level-5 hurricane. they're out of their league. I don't get it - is that some sort of comparison of strength or something in an RPG? Level-5 hurricane survivor FTW?
I can't remember a dozen different passwords, but I use Password Safe to create passwords for my logins all the time - I only have to refer back to pwsafe a few times before the password seems burned into muscle memory....
Of course, I use at most 2 upper case, and at most 3 numerics in an 8 character password, so that helps a little.
For me, it seems like the people who are still playing UT have been playing for years - my clan has been together for about 2 years, and no matter what other game we try or play, it comes back to UT.
Some of our newer members have been playing just as long. I'd imagine the griefers have all but moved on - of course, our demo server still gets hit by botters and idiots, but we turn off the in-game voice chat - more for the benefit of the other users.
We're one of the few demo servers left that has a regular stream of players; some really good, some really bad....
1. If you're a geek, try to wrap your head around Asterisk - I'd have to think either it would have that functionality built in, and if not - wouldn't be too hard to tell it to pass whitelisted #s, but dump everything else to voicemail....
2. I use Broadvoice at home, and when I don't want to be disturbed, I *77 the phone. *78 unblocks it (takes it out of Do Not Disturb) - of course, this doesn't help when it's late at night and I don't do the *77 ahead of time, but I can make sure I don't get awoken again.
Both of these implementations almost require an internet connection. While you can purchase FXO modules for Asterisk, I've just not had the interest in making a go at it with a PSTN connection....
Another alternative - only one phone in our whole house rings. I sleep rather well, so I probably wouldn't hear it if it rang at night...

Hell, I'd like that now.
Serial ports are useful. Not so much in the home, but they're still useful.
Of course, a little USB-Serial dongle solved that issue for me when I had a thinkpad t42 at work a while ago...
Will there be chairs around?
Some people don't want to invest their time and money into new tools etc required to build such a cabinet.
That's why we've got this thing called money. I can pay someone else to do stuff that I'd either rather not do or don't want to spend the time on.
It's kind of like my Operating System. Even though Linux is free, I'd still rather pay for it than create it....
Depends who is doing the Morse:

Makeup and plastic surgery, son. Makeup and plastic surgery.
I missed the sarcasm in your post. I checked the site and thought "Damn, he got me."
Good show!
I would just hand you your two pennies back, then give you your 73 dollars in change...
Let me know when and where you're working retail, and you'll definitely have my business if you give 73 dollars in change from a $20...
You must have gotten your fingers stuck in that "motor" of yours.
VB.Nyet
Some new German version of VB.Net, I assume?
For some reason, I think you have an attraction to fire.
I nominate you for the "Best Use of the Word Gimped in July 2007" award.
Congratulations!
From the summary, no less:

plus an optional $29 'loaner iPhone' rental.

Swing and a miss....
My first thought was "Why you gonna go blame Pinocchio for this one?"
But then I did a double take and thought "Maybe he just means the movie as a whole..."
Yes, I'm sick.
I guess I feel safer than most of the clients I take care of; although now you have me thinking about different ways to remember a longer password...

An FXS adapter (100$ usb?) for Asterix will allow you to connect your server/workstation up to your analog phones, and provide dialtone/ringing.
Actually, I think the submitter mentioned a fee for caller ID - I'm not sure that there's any cell service that actually charges for that, right?
