I've recently moved to an LCD panel as my main computer monitor... but if I could find someone who still made Trinitron style monitors (say 22" or larger) I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Sadly, every CRT I've ever had has gone the wayside of getting blurry except for the trinitrons. And I've not purchased one larger than 17", so I don't want to go back to a 17 for daily use...
I'm not sure what the laws are for "on your property" in Ohio, but I know that if you have the keys within reach and you're in the vehicle, you can get busted for "physical control", which means you could drive if you wanted to while drunk.
I know you were joking, but for those who haven't read the article, I found this interesting:
Even at its most efficient power setting, the big 14 consumes 1,660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour.
And the article also stated at the most efficient setting, the engine is >50% thermal efficient (more than 50% of energy is transferred to motion, rather than heat)
a dos box pops up and asks for my password. (I use this at work; IE 6 and Win2k prevail) I'm also aware there are "easier" ways to do this, but I've just gotten in the habit of this.
NTSC is horrible. NTSC on a higher def TV apparently is even worse.
I put together a PVR about a year or so ago, and it takes so much time to go through and calibrate it so that the colors and contrast look okay across all recordings.
I'd say a device like this would be good (like you said) just for smaller devices or SDTVs.
I used to have 2 chevy cars that would also kick off the AC if the throttle was pressed >75% of the way down, regardless of RPM on the engine.
The 4banger you could feel a difference, the v8 you could hear the compressor kick off (both were manual transmissions.) This is assuming that the clutch is engaged at the time you throw the pedal down.
As far as flashlights go, how about a MagLite LED for $50 rather than a $300 flashlight?
They did suggest the Inova X03, of which I don't own (I do own about 7 LED flashlights, including a 3 D cell LED Mag.)
The X03 is 32$ @ Amazon (through their link). But, if you do get the Mag, there's a suprise - in the tailcap, you get a regular bulb to swap in if you feel like... they don't include another LED module.
I would think that cherry picking and "just don't fucking work over x number of meters" are two different things altogether. Admitted, installing a CO available to the places it doesn't work would provide service, that's probably not a thought for someone who provides dial tone first, DSL second.
Although technical limitations could be one of the "excuses" that are used if DSL is denied to a certain household......
I've found that even if you think someone is not as smart as you, they'll still have something to share that is worthwhile. Sometimes you have to endure boring times to get to the good stuff.
Like I said (or was trying to imply) - everyone thinks of it in different ways in their heads. I honestly don't go through thinking the series of thoughts I conveyed to her at the time; I was merely attempting to point out how far off the prices were. I can just look at the quantity and price and say "that one's better" without any thought applied.
Was with my wife at the store getting a tree. Saw batteries; If I recall, 10 for 6.99 and 16 for 8.99.
She didn't know which was cheaper.
I told her that she could double the count for 10 (making 14$) and then take 1/2 of the original price (3.50) away from the $14. So for 15 batteries at the 10 battery price, you're paying more than what you'd pay for 16 batteries.
I guess I can understand if the way I presented the solution to her didn't click, but she still just said "oh well" and didn't bother to try to think her way through which was a better deal. I guess that's why we have "$ / whatever" in grocery stores now...

Swing and a miss...
Microsoft (from what I've heard from my desktop folks at work) do have a patch for Windows 2000 - it's just not exactly published yet.
Let's just say the company I work for doesn't have more than 1% WinXP....

The codec was available before the debacle, from what I recall.....
;)
I think they started to differentiate it back in those days with a smiley

Of course, definitely not a consumer item!
Does that mean I have to have some sort of sex change?
If you were infected as a uterus,
eeek! You appear to have the bug!
you can do a runas from the start menu. It just gets a little weird; I usually use the command prompt to do a runas anyways:
/user:[domain/]username command-to-run
/user:domain/karnal c:\progra~1\intern~1\iexplore.exe
runas
So, if I need to run internet explorer as a different user, I can:
runas

The ground being longer also assists in grounding the device before it goes hot.
If you have an electrical problem with the device, the flow should go back to the ground first since it's the first one connected.
just go round a TV shop near the end of the day and feel for yourself.
I just got a funny picture in my head of a TV salesman punching me for "feeling for myself".
CRT can be front projection, too. Given most people call them "projectors" and not "tvs"; however, the statement is relevant.
But does it have a hot chicks room?

Am I missing something, or are those two bottom links the same thing?
The only link I found in a brief overview of the site is this:
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm
Tomshardware has the pictures with heatsinks on the north bridge.
Computer porn sites have pictures with the northbridges exposed.
Sounds to me like you need to play Desert Bus
No pics in link, but I'm sure you know my friend Google...

can "cherry pick" for DSL

I don't think I was ever allowed to put the "cheese" on the wonderful macaroni art I used to make as a kid.
I probably would have just eaten the cheese powder anyways.

Man, you're gonna be pissed when you eventually will have to take your hard drive in for service when your cupholder breaks.
I remember Tesla Coils and Prism Towers in Yuri's revenge... Mammoth tanks as well.

Heck, it's all over.
