The band/management/whatever still owns the copyright to the performance, of which you have a copy of.
If they allow you to record the concert, they probably also give you free reign to distribute and help them get some word of mouth. But you most certainly do not own the copyright of the recording, since that is a copy of the performance.
Why the hell would you need to "rip" it if it's already in an encoded form?
Copying CD's doesn't introduce loss. Encoding to MP3 introduces loss, but if the copy is made without the lossy encoding step inbetween, there is no information lost....
Actually, you could load up one machine with 5 or 6 burners, and have them all dupe the same data at once. Nero allows this. You'd just have to:
1. Have some add-in cards to support the CD-Burners (Make sure the cards support ATAPI, btw.)
2. Make sure your hard drive can spool the data fast enough... although since you're burning the same data, heck, you could put 10 burners in one machine then.....
So, for a machine that's probably 700-1ghz (intel or amd pick your poison) at around 300$ (512mb ram, etc, more for better interface-sound card) plus 50$ for each 52x liteon burner, you'd be looking at 800$+. Not too shabby.
Of course, that's assuming you can find a 10 exposed bay solid case for cheap too.
Maybe that's why the headliners always sound so much better. I'm always so much more drunk after having to listen to the openers, driven to drinking via a band that has one or two people who can play really well, but are definitely not showmen.
Usually the others "look" good, but can't play well.
On a side note, I remember that teachers used to get pissed if the kids would take the cover and snap it in two over a desk.
Of course, I was the lowly nerd in high school and attempted to keep my books in good shape. However, that doesn't stop the kid a foot from your desk from grabbing your book and *CRACK*. While I admit, I'd laugh from time to time, it really wasn't my fault....
Grab a copy of MESS, find the roms, and emulate away.
Nothing beats not having to wait for the tape to load for Tunnels of Doom. Although, for those of you who like to wait, you can actually use MESS to save and load to tape (via.WAV files...) It's truly nuts to hear those sounds again....
Has anyone else noticed how stupid people act at work in times of hardship? Recently we've had some people walked out the door... From what I gather from the rumor mill, the last one to go forged his manager's signature since he was on vacation.... so he could get approved for another pay advance (of which, the rules forbid the one he was requesting, explicitly needing the mgr sig.).
These are really good people I used to work with and then they seem to lose a couple of sanity points... ??? Weird.
On a side note, I have found that re-encoding my MP3's into a more efficient manner is a better use of my space.
I used to use a plethora of LAME options that would cause variable bit-rate mp3's to use 240-290kbps. I then took a look and noticed that LAME was actually coding the files as 2 independant streams (i.e. no joint stereo, which most recordings do very well with.)
Now I've toned down a bit, and my files are from 140kbs to 212kbs... and sound every bit the same to me, from headphones (senns) to my listening room.... just food for thought for those who may think that they need the highest bitrate in the world when using a lossy format like MP3. That last 100kbits that you don't save probably has very diminishing returns on the sound itself.
You'll probably find that the "delay" on most receivers actually refers to the delay in putting audio through the rear channel, thus creating more of a "surround" effect if you have to sit in line with the rears.
See, to get a sweet spot in a home theatre set up (wish I had room for a sweet spot in mine) is to set the rears equidistant from your ears as the fronts are. Unfortunately, many room environments don't allow for this, so you can use the receiver to "delay" the rear signals by so many milliseconds to make the surround more convincing at close range.
But, if you use 4 of them, then you have a weird condition:
With the 2 sets in parallel, you will allow roughly twice the amount of current through. Then, when one blows on one circuit (faulty or otherwise), the second set of breakers will all of a sudden be taking much more current, and increase the chances of blowing.
It probably wouldn't be a good idea to allow 2x the rated capacity to be able to get to the device in question, especially when talking about high amp ratings.

What I was saying is telling someone to shut the fuck up just for the sake of being in an airplane is impolite.
Just because you don't seem to have any good social skills doesn't mean the rest of the plane has to "shut the fuck up". I would hate to be your child.
2. Loading time is negligible? Nope. Try loading an SUV full of anything. It takes time.
3. Where didja get all of those DVD's? Spent the last 3 months burning them?
Just some thoughts. While a high speed network is expensive, just getting all of this together (to move an SUVload of DVD's down the road) probably costs more, especially long term.
Of course, you're assuming that 2 built to the hilt cars will be crashing into each other. There are so many more factors....
I drive a 78 Cougar on occasion - I bought it about 7 years ago, and just have it around for a spare car in case our vehicles break down etc. But, against even my Grand Marquis, it would probably still be drivable after a "typical" accident.
Ummm.

They've got deathmatch in the James Bond movies.
Only thing is, I haven't heard an announcer voice-over the movies saying "mo-mo-mo-mo-monnnsterr-killlll!"

Some people do have more money than brains. I have a friend of a freind who works for BMW Financial services.
In the end, learned that a pretty popular basketball (NBA) star is currently paying $2700 a MONTH on a brand new 760.
And it's only a lease.
Christ, I clear a little more than that each month, and some people can afford that for a CAR payment???

You're the first person I've heard state that their relationship broke up due to "unfortunate circumstances."
With the exception of a good friend of mine that watched his girlfriend get hit by a car and die. Those are unfortunate circumstances....

So does that mean I'll be forced out of Ohio?
YAAAAYYY!

"We're talking about a market in which people grumble about paying an extra dollar twice a month."
Extra dollar? Have you seen gas prices lately???

I agree with you as well.

Just make sure you're not using the facilities when it happens. That would probably hurt.

No.
But if you made a molecular copy of the gas in someone else's tank, the oil companies would probably try to stop what you are doing as well.

It's not because they don't wanna... just doesn't count if you're by yourself.

Why would you have to replace the driveshaft???? Wowza.
