You know, I told the car dealership the same thing the other day. I said, "James, I want to drive a car, not fix them!"
So I guess all those who buy cars should also be fixing them on their own too? I guess Granny should know how to replace her transmission in her Dodge Caravan because the plastic pin inside the automatic transmission decided to break.
If I play a CD in my house, and let my friends listen to it, would I be infringing on the RIAA's IP? What if my friends remember the song and play it in their heads constantly?
This has been brough up before, but did they download any MP3s from these users? If so, did they listen to them?
What if I were to dump some random bytes or just zeros into a file, name it something like "Radiohead - Idioteque.mp3," and share it on Kazaa? If the RIAA sued me for IP theft, could I counter-sue them? Under what clause?
I seriously doubt they spent time listening to every single MP3 these users have. What if I were to make gigabytes of useless material that would essentially "bait" the RIAA?
As a Telus ADSL user here in Vancouver, I can safely say that it is "fucking time." Telus' offerings have been nothibg but shady for the past few years that they have been running the British Columbian telco service, and their ADSL service has gone nowhere but downward since their take over of BCTel a few years ago.
Here is a few gripes I have with Telus:
Telus has a web proxy that is forced upon its users, and they refuse to let home customers to be exempted from the proxy upon request.
Telus, like many ISPS, blocks port 80. You cannot get around it, even though you're technically allowed to run a server on your broadband connection.
They have hired a 3rd-party firm to take a look at the security that they have setup on their network -- from the backbone right up to the last mile. That's pretty insulting to their service.
The DHCP servers, in most places, have a habit of going down as often as a hooker on East Hastings.
I cannot gripe about the price as it isn't all that bad -- $35 CDN a month, which is $25 USD. They also do encourage connection sharing, as they sell Linksys routers in their stores.
However, Telus ADSL sucks and I welcome competition. Maybe Telus will clean up its act when it comes to their Internet service.
How well do applications for System 7 preform under A/UX? I have been interested in using A/UX for a few years seeing someone handed me some CDs with 3.0 and the 3.0.1 upgrade on them.
Wouldn't it be smarter to have towns and cities WAN'd and setup to link with eachother through some sort of Internet service. I cannot see linking the entire country with 802.11b feasible considering you got the Rockies blocking the West Coast.
I guess living in a country that implements laws that limit freedoms in what a consumer can do with their products, allows corporations to run the country like mad, have healthcare funded outside of taxation, go insane when two-thousand people die in one day after a building collapses when the same amount die from various diseases and other mortalities daily, and so on is much better.
Even though the licence that Bochs uses and the licence that Wine uses are different, why can't the Wine developers write a portion that allows usage of x86 emulation enabling the usage of Windows programmes under different processor architecures?
I am going to Birch Bay, Washington with a few friends that same weekend. I live in Surrey, British Columbia, so Bellingham is only a forty minute drive from my house, and a ten minute drive from the cabin I am staying at.
People want to drive cars, not fix them.

BCTel used to be GTE, which was an American company.

Maybe SCO has more money than we think. They can actually still afford a flight and accomodations in Japan!
Here is a mirror I created: http://animefreak.arkaic.com:9000/ppcmac/
Feel free.

Since a tornado damaged the Pringles factory in Jackson, Tn, I can rely on floppies instead for the next while.
Thanks!
Everyone just idles and says nothing. Hence, lots of peace. :)
V and B are the same letters in the Japanese, so maybe the cop has some intersting Engrish skills?
Isn't the point of a business the "bottom line?"

Wait...
First Post for all trolls!
I never stated Wine is an emulator. However, you could add x86 emulation into Wine to allow usage of Win32 applications on platforms other than IA-32.

Stop living in a fantasy world.
He was quietly asked to leave by Mr. Malda.

Long live to Model-M! I will never give my baby up. Mine is a 1987 model.
It is optional, if anything. It poses less of a threat to Windows NT than Linux, though.
