1. The NSW Liberal Party paid for it, Howard later reimbursed them. 2. As defined by legistlation tabled & passed by the majority Liberal party. 3. This has never been established or confirmed in any article I am aware of, if you could verify this, I'd love to see it. 4. A bit of nepotism goes a long way in politics. 5. The company also supplied its unsolicitated email services to Tony Abbott, Brendan Nelson and Ross Cameron, three other senior Liberal party members.
I don't recall mentioning anything about any support for the Labor Party. The action may have been legally sound (the ACA cleared them), but it is completely morally and ethically dubious.
The Prime Minister, John Howard, used spam provided by his son's company in the last election campaign. Unsoliticated email was sent containing Liberal Party election material to voters.
My brothers Diablo II LOD cd recently exploded (literally) in his drive. Called up the distributor and they said that they'd take his details and would look into it. We thought that this was just a brush off but the next day a brand new CD arrived via express post complete with a new cd-key as well.
How many times have you actually tried to get a replacement CD from a distributor?
And let's look at it from the PR aspect. Who does the (flag-waving, Bush-voting, PATRIOT-supporting) US Citizen trust more? The government, or a corporate consortium? More importantly, who do they fear more? If they could get a half-dozen P2P sharers dragged to jail in handcuffs, it would do wonders for the chilling-effect.
And all those p2p users can share cells with the drug users in jail.
The day these new laws were announced they were inundated with people calling 000 (our emergency number) to report people throwing out ciggerettes from cars. The next day there was big anouncement (radio/television/etc) not to call 000 unless it was an emergency.
You would be pleased to know that since the recent bushfires in Australia, throwing a ciggerette out the window is now classified as Arson not Littering. It carries a maximum sentence of 15 years iirc.
I swear the quality of these has declined over the past 10 years. There used to be a time when I could reliably transfer a file between machines on these. Now I open a new packet and 4/10 won't work.

Just a Soft Student.
Where CSEE department becomse ITEE department for the sake of Marketing and misguided e-mail, with no input from the student body. How do you think the engineers feel? Oh, and make sure those papers submitted are original, you wouldn't want to be caught for excessive collusion.
I noticed that on page 47, under the question "Where can I download or buy Linux software?" there is a link to slashdot, can someone explain to me where the download section of slashdot is?
Why is everyone complaining about dark shades. Quake1 had the the best mood/colour ever! QuakeIII just became quake 1 on LSD (with shit gameplay) I hope regress back to the Quake 1 days for doom3.
i finally see someone who binds +foward to mouse2, everyone i know except for myself generally uses W. Having it on mouse2 means that you can continually move forward while giving radio commands (counter-strike). I tell them to try pressing 8 (negative) while holding down W and watching the screen.
What i would like to see is a FPS that could distinguish between CAPITAL keystrokes and lowercase keystrokes. That way shift/caps could be used as a modifier for all keys allowing twice the buttons in the same area.
Any lawyers out there? What would be the legal position if I sold a phonebook of illegal gun traffickers? Would I be breaking any laws?
IANAL, but you'd have a whole phonebook of illegal gun traffickers who would not be happy with you.

I'm sure the new guy will need his website redesigned. I am going to offer to do it for 50% of what it cost Alston. At $2 million that is a bargain.

I've been playing absurd amounts of this game lately. Its an old style shump with a new twist (no pun intended - for those who know the game).
It's recently been re-released on the gamecube and is yet another port from the dreamcast.
I wish more companies would produce new games with the old style gameplay. I want some new side scrolling platformers that are of good quality.

Disclaimer: I am not bitter.
"I would like my fingers to magically resize and fit whatever the keyboard size is."
Like in Ghost in the shell, iirc, where they had those nice wire fingers for typing on the computers.

I judge a mans worth by the number of clowns he smuggles across the border.

This is the forum where the usernames were posted. Apparently it only affects teltra bigbond ADSL users.
