    the goal is not speed, although the ideal max speed for one device is a nice marketing gimmick and side effect

    the goal of these new technologies is to squeeze more users onto the same number of towers or less towers to save the carriers money

    if i can get a cable package paying $10 a month for YES, MSG and SNY channels i'll jump on it. most people only care about the regional sports networks and not ESPN/FOX Sports etc. only NBCSN would be a big hit since they have the Barclays Premier League

    Disney/ABC owns them and only licenses them as part of a package where you pay for the entire disney/abc channel lineup

    HBO has always been a premium channel and so it wasn't that big a jump to a streaming only sub after testing with allowing people to pirate it

    i've known people from the first gulf war and they swore that iraq used chemical weapons against the USA then or that the demolition of some of the ammunition exposed them. a lot of people after the war suffered from light symptoms known to be caused by exposure to nerve agents

    yes there were chemical weapons, we found them but it was apparently a huge secret even though that is why we went to war

    its fair. HD is 5mbps and 4k is around 20mbps. means netflix has to pay for more bandwidth and server storage. doesn't matter if they buy it from the ISP's or the tier 1 companies

    it sounds nice but in the real world netflix won't break 10mbps on google fiber. their CDN boxes will have 100gbps connections for tens of thousands of users to share.
    and every other edge provider can't support all their users at 1gbps. either they don't pay for enough bandwidth on their end or they don't have enough capacity to support all their users at speeds like that.

    i've had dropbox uploads go 1mbps on a 50mbps connection for this very reason

    save your money. the internet is more than just your ISP. only place you see those speeds are on the speedtest sites which are scams anyway

    With obamacare it might actually be true. No need to pay $700 a month to some company health plan when you can do it to the gubment and work in a smaller environment

    the fans cream themselves when the teams sign up players for tens of millions of $$$ and if the team isn't winning they rage that teams need to hire more expensive players.. then they complain about the cost of watching the games on TV or live

    not just the NFL. yankee fans want ownership to write unlimited checks no matter how many players are hurt and way above the luxury tax

    gave up my AT&T long ago and never looked back. i rarely stream music, netflix or youtube. with phones being able to store over 100GB of data you can just carry it around instead of paying money for bandwidth

    $10 a month buys spotify premium with lots of features including online caching
    you can download podcasts and large youtube videos to watch offline
    you can't cache netflix, but any other movie can be stored locally
    porn is easy to download a bunch of videos on wifi and watch later at your leisure

    my 4 line AT&T plan used to run $250 a month and now it's $187 including my Note 3 on NEXT payments. if i could get an AT&T plan for like $50 a month for 4 lines and a gig or two of data i'd do it in a heartbeat. carry around a cheapo phone for emergency data and buy a tablet with lots of storage to use more often

    all the good books already follow formulas for story structure people figured out thousands of years ago. deviating from the formula is almost always a way to make a crappy book
