oh well then, by all means get to work. I will expect you linux developers to make short work of the encryption and have it done in a matter of months if its that simple.
a better question would be, Whos chip are they trying to crack? Like the RC5 Challenges, if they were to try to crack another one it would take just as long to do. whats the point of cracking it if you're going to have to do it for everyones machines? Its a painfully pointless exercise which should only be getting recognition for stupidity and nothing more.
Ok, i really have nothing against opensource but the GPL is horrible. The way i see it is if i were to do something opensource it would be a variation on the BSD license. Take what i got and use it to make whatever you're working on better. None of this "IF YOU USE MY SHIT YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT OPENSOURCE TOO" thats just rude. IMO thats MORE wrong then most of the crap Microsoft does like what they did with the Windows XP registration. IE "Buy Our Operating System and you can only use it on one machine because we'll make it so you cant put it on more@#$%@"
From what I'v seen of cpu instensive tasks the Dual 1ghz G4 can mop the floor with a dual athlon.
I dont know in comparison to the 2000+ but its a good deal faster then the 1800, as in twice as fast.
I hope it lands on my house. I could sell the movie rights for it. Then we can have a whole series of movies about huge satellites returning threatening all life as we know it.
Wait, wasnt that what one of the blob movies was about?
We had one like that at fanshawe college as well. It could detect more then just exact duplicates, like duplicate functions as well. It would then be up to the professor to decide if it is an attempt at cheating.
this is nothing new, fanshawe college isnt the first to do this.
The iPod is so popular because of the size. This thing uses a laptop harddrive like all the others. The iPod it self could fit inside these mp3 players that use laptop drives. It also uses USB. Please, do the math on how long it would take to transfer 20 gigs on USB.
About damn time. the cartoon is the one true tick.
the characters in the real version were too.. um.. Too much. The tick was too obnoxious and imature. The animated version rocked your socks. Bring that one back.
Actualy the Human eye is 30% more sensitive to Green then Blue and Red. We can see more shades of green then any other colour. This is why Night Vision and HUD's on jets are Green.
Game consoles will enjoy HDTV, that will be another positive reason to get one. XBox games support it and i think so do some PS2 titles via the composit connection.
Mini Dish receivers now have HDTV support as well. Most new stations and some old ones have HDTV support as well.
Im still unsure how people make money in linux. Its free and stuff. Only money lately i'v seen has been in venture capital and stock which really is nothing because that has to be paid back (or at least in stock just being a loan for how long the investor wants to keep it there.)
Use banner ads on your website?
I use MacOS X now and man thats good stuff(tm), Now i can see useing that as a platform to use your linux skills on and potentialy make money.
All honesty im not a beliver in opensource because i belive time *IS* money which means my time should be worth a return in cold hard cash. Yes i do understand most linux developers are doing it on their own free will and all that. But what do they do to feed them selvs? I know several people who develop linux applications (little things nothing ground breaking) but then work in factories. Seems like a waste of valuble skills.
When people graduate from an IT program they are expecting to make money because they have student loans and have spent so much money for their education. All i want to know is where this money comes from and if its stable enough to devote much time to. All i'v seen lately are startup linux companies hanging around for acouple months and then file Chapter 11.
now if only the canadian government didnt charge me GST when i imported something. Still cheaper to import tho:-) Im just trying to ballance out the trade between the US/CDN since canada sells more to the US then Canada Buys:-)
Can you load Windows onto it? :-)

You're so dense. Ever hear of Public/Private keys? Im not goint to teach you cryptography so i'll just let you go look it up.

The iTanium can flash-fry a herd of buffalo in twenty seconds.
Go with the feeling, you're not the first post.

Is there anything linux doesnt do!?
I should make up a linux box that uses an Athlon to power my lavalamp!

Has anyone ran linux on a PS2 run any Benchmarks yet? I'd like to know just how fast the CPU really is.

I didnt say it did, i said these other ones do.
Quote (of me!): The iPod it self could fit inside these mp3 players that use laptop drives.

An AP is 1/10th the size of a Linuxbox and 1/100th the hassle.

Damn straight, they'll distribute their own version of linux to work with Linux MS Office.
$700 for the package!
*HOW* is this off topic? Please? someone? Hasent the person who rated this off topic ever seen a an ethernet network drive server?
ok seriously, how is this off topic? who moderated this off topic? I think they are off topic.
Now all someone needs to do is make an 802.11g network raid system. that would be so exellent.

Is it too much to ask for pictures? really? its hard to get excited about something if i cant see it.
