    Of course, at this current time the world is pretty much run by huge corporations who lobby with millions of dollars to politicians, but soon in the future, laws will be passed, and that problem will be gone.

    Unfortunately, this part is pure fantasy. If you want to get in power, you need money. To get money, you need to promise favours/sell out to the people with money. With shitloads of money, enough to spare some on politicians. Thus effectively, the people with shitloads of money are the ones who make policy. The interests of people with [shitloads of money|power] and those of the common man will never coincide. The only way to keep shitloads of money/power and have it mean something, is to make sure the average man has a lot less than you.

    Of course thes problems all go away if the people revolt and make sure that the ones who want power never have it.

    You're right, even windows can't do it... It should be simple, there should be 3 choices:

    a)Printer is connected to this computer
    b)Printer is connected to another computer on the network
    c)Printer is plugged into the network or is wireless

    Then the world would be a happier place.... I wish OSS people would talk to designer people before / during designing their interfaces.

    Balls to using low-res movies though, I'd like to be able to take 5-6 shots of a scene with my 4.1Mp camera, and have similar software get more details just from the slight movements of the camera in my hands, even if it simply added detail at the same resolution, it'd be awesome technology... Of course the next step would be cameras that do this themselves, with a 32mbish high speed ram buffer to hold several full-res images taken in rapid succession...

    Why is it even a discussion? Microsoft didn't kill real. Real killed real. Because their product sucked balls, assaulted your computer, and produced terrible tiny low-quality video and awful sound. And microsoft didn't kill quicktime. Quicktime's doing just fine, thankyou. I don't know about you guys, but I don't use DRM video files, but I do use windows media player because it's easy to use, doesn't look stupid in some horrible skin (not from the factory at least), and .wmv files have a decent quality/size ratio. And I sure as hell don't want MS or anybody else putting realplayer anywhere near my computer.

    This came up lst time this was asked here. The detection is based on a pattern of circles, hidden/featured in most notes of most currencies.

    EPROM is not flash, EPROM needs physical interaction to be erased, you peel off a sticker and shine a black light into a little window for a while to wipe. Flash is a form of EEPROM (electro-erasable PROM)

    Ethanol takes energy to make. Lots of energy, possibly more than it contains.

    Yes... possibly... We call that one the second law of thermodynamics.

    Ethanol isn't supposed to be a source of energy, merely a better way to store it than petroleum or hydrogen (for now). The only source of energy is fusion or fission, wether done here or inherited from the sun.
